Abstract: The seat has a backrest with a back support integrated therein, comprising a curved spring plate member which bears against the rear of the backrest cushion. The distance, as measured in the heightwise direction of the backrest, between the upper and lower edges of the spring plate member can be adjusted by manual or motor-driven means to vary its curvature and the resistance to bending of the spring plate member is lower in its lower region than in its upper region whereby, when the distance between its upper and lower edges is progressively reduced, the spring plate member initially becomes more curved in its lower region until a restricting means comes into action to limit that initially produced increase in curvature, with the result that the curvature in the upper region is then increased.

Abstract: In a travel seat comprising a backrest, at least one armrest and a seat cushion, there is provided a support plate member which, disposed at the front end of the armrest in a horizontal position is pivotal in its horizontal plane about a vertical axis and, in the position in which it is swung out, is rotatable about a horizontal axis and can be swung in under the armrest.

Abstract: A commerical vehicle seat with a mechanism for adjusting the seat to the weight of the driver, wherein there is provided a support plate for the backrest of the seat capable generally of upright motion relative to a backrest support. Between the backrest support plate and the support backrest there is at least one spring for biasly a seat support bracket, with one end of the spring being able to be moved in relation to the backrest support plate (or the backrest support) by an adjustment member which adjusts to different weights. More specifically, this end of the spring is connected to a support lever which may be rotated about a generally horizontal axis and is fixed to the backrest support, while the other end of the spring is acted upon by an adjustment lever which may be spring-locked in a number of different positions for keeping the support lever in different positions of adjustment. The adjustment lever is also rotatably fixed to the backrest support.

Abstract: A retractor for safety belts having a winding shaft acted upon by a retracting spring, and journaled in a housing so as to be non-displaceable axially, a detent disk provided with detent elements distributed over its periphery and fixed to the winding shaft, and a counter-detent member anti-rotationally joined to the housing and having at least one counter-detent element. The detent disk is disposed fixedly in the axial direction on the winding shaft while the counter-detent disk is axially displaceable on the winding shaft between the detent disk and a housing wall and is secured against rotation by lugs extending from the housing wall approximately parallel to the winding shaft towards the detent disk and engaging notches in the counter-detent disk. A spring extends between the counter-detent disk and the housing wall. A pushbutton displaceable axially to the winding shaft serves as actuating member for the counter-detent disk and grips the same.

Abstract: A push button lock for a safety belt is described including a first lock part which has an insertion aperture at one end, and a second slide in tongue part which is insertable into the opening in an axially extending plane of the first part. Within the first part there is a receiving housing which includes a web portion with a side wall on each side edge of the web portion which latter has a fixed stop which is engageable on a transverse edge formed on the tongue.A slot is provided in each side wall of the receiving housing and this has a first part which is parallel to the axial plane and a second part inclined with respect thereto. The housing has a push button which is axially slideable therein and this comprises a cross-bar, two side walls which are spaced apart by the cross-bar and a manually actuable portion at the insertion opening end of the lock part.

Abstract: A seat comprising upholstery on a base plate is provided with means for adjusting the height of the upholstery surface at least at the front of the seat, said adjusting means comprising an intermediate plate interposed between the upholstery and the base plate to define with the base plate a tapered gap. The intermediate plate is pivoted to the base plate about a transverse axis and rests on a displaceable supporting member disposed in the gap at a selected spacing from the transverse axis. To adjust the height of the upholstery, the supporting member is moved further towards or away from the transverse axis.

Abstract: There is proposed a seat of adjustable height having a seat part coupled by a connecting element to a supporting lever acted upon by supporting spring means, the lever being swingable against the action of the supporting spring means by a load acting on the seat part. In order to enable easy height adjustment with a simple construction in such a seat the connecting element is adjustable relative to the supporting lever to change the height of the seat part and a locking device is provided by means of which the connecting element and the supporting lever can be locked in several different relative positions. To enable height adjustment without use of a special lever the locking device may be constructed to lock the connecting element and the supporting lever in a series of relative positions as the seat part is raised and when the seat part reaches an upper end position to set itself in a disengaged condition which is maintained until the seat part is lowered to a lower end position.
