Abstract: A pick-up head picks up a semiconductor device from a carrier substrate. The pick-up head includes a first leg portion, a second leg portion, a raised bridge base portion between the first and second leg portions, and a tip portion mounted on the raised bridge base portion. The tip portion engages with the semiconductor device to pick up the semiconductor device from the carrier substrate. The pick-up head is associated with a force detection mechanism that detects a force applied to the pick-up head for picking up the semiconductor device. The force detection mechanism includes cavities formed on the first leg portion and/or second leg portion, pillars arranged on the pick-up head, a force detection device arranged in a mount assembly that is attached on the pick-up head, or electrodes arranged on the mount assembly. Actuation of the pick-up head is determined based on the detected force.

  • Patent number: 11755275
Abstract: This disclosure describes embodiments of methods, non-transitory computer-readable media, and systems for detecting that a physical space includes a physical object corresponding to an analogous virtual object from an augmented reality experience and rendering (or otherwise modifying) the augment reality experience to integrate the physical object as part of the experience. In particular, the disclosed systems can determine that a physical object within a physical environment corresponds to an analogous virtual object of an augmented reality experience. Based on this correspondence, the disclosed systems can modify one or more of the virtual graphics, sound, or other features corresponding to the augmented reality experience to represent the virtual object using the physical object. For example, the disclosed systems can modify acoustic features of a sound for the augmented reality experience to simulate the sound originating from (or being affected by) the physical object.

  • Patent number: 11758319
Abstract: An acoustic sensor includes port architecture designed to mitigate wind noise. The acoustic sensor includes a primary waveguide having two ports open to a local area surrounding the acoustic sensor. One opening of a secondary waveguide is coupled to portion of the primary waveguide, with another opening of the secondary waveguide coupled to a microphone. The secondary waveguide has a smaller cross-section than the primary waveguide. Hence, airflow is directed from a port of the primary waveguide to the other port of the primary waveguide and back into the local area, bypassing the microphone.

  • Patent number: 11749964
Abstract: A semiconductor light source including a planar optical component that focuses long-wavelength (e.g., infrared) light emitted in a resonant cavity into a nonlinear crystal, which then converts the long-wavelength light into light having a shorter wavelength (e.g., visible light) by frequency doubling. A wavelength-selective reflection layer on the nonlinear crystal reflects the long-wavelength light back into the resonant cavity to form an external cavity and transmits the light having the shorter wavelength out of the external cavity. The resonant cavity includes an active region that emits the long-wavelength light at a high efficiency. The planar optical component includes a micro-lens formed in semiconductor layers or a gradient refractive index lens formed in the nonlinear crystal.

  • Patent number: 11751003
Abstract: Embodiments relate to personalization of a head-related transfer function (HRTF) for a given user. A sound source is spatialized for an initial position using an initial version of a HRTF to obtain an initial spatialized sound source. Upon presentation of the initial spatialized sound source, at least one property of the HRTF is adjusted in an iterative manner based on at least one perceptive response from the user to generate a version of the HRTF customized for the user. Each perceptive response from the user indicates a respective offset between a perceived position and a target position of the sound source. The customized version of the HRTF is applied to one or more audio channels to form spatialized audio content for the perceived position. The spatialized audio content is presented to the user, wherein the offset between the perceived position and the target position is reduced.

  • Patent number: 11748944
Abstract: A virtual object system can orchestrate virtual objects defined as a collection of components and with inheritance in an object hierarchy. Virtual object components can include a container, data, a template, and a controller. A container can define the volume the virtual object is authorized to write into. A virtual object's data can specify features such as visual elements, parameters, links to external data, meta-data, etc. The template can define view states of the virtual object and contextual breakpoints for transitioning between them. Each view state can control when and how the virtual object presents data elements. The controller can define logic for the virtual object to respond to input, context, etc. The definition of each object can specify which other object in an object hierarchy that object extends, where extending an object includes inheriting that object's components, which can be modified or overwritten as part of the extension.

  • Patent number: 11747523
Abstract: A dot array illuminator includes an illumination source that includes one or more source arrays and a microlens array (MLA). A source array is an array of light emitting components. The source arrays are positioned on a substrate according to a geometric configuration. The MLA includes lens arrays that are arranged in a similar geometric configuration. The microlens array are separated from the source arrays by a distance and are substantially parallel to the source arrays. The microlens array overlaps with the source arrays and is of a dimension such that it can receive substantially all light emitted by the illumination source. The illumination source emits light towards the MLA. The MLA receives the light and outputs structured pattern light by interpolating received light.

  • Patent number: 11748914
Abstract: In one embodiment, a computing system may access color components of a pixel region in an image, and then determine a color variance for each of the color components. The computing system may further determine a desired bit allocation for each of the color components based on the color variance associated with that color component. The computing system may then determine a total bit allocation for the pixel region based on the desired bit allocations for the color components, as well as a number of unallocated bits available for allocation. The computing system may further determine a final bit allocation for each of the color components by allocating the total bit allocation to each of the color components according to the desired bit allocation for each of the color components. The computing system may then encode each of the color components using the associated final bit allocation.
