Abstract: Combinations of synthetic low molecular weight catalysts for the dismutation of superoxide and Nonsteroidal Analgesic/Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) are potent analgesics that are effective in elevating the pain threshold in hyperalgesic conditions.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to bioconjugates of complexes represented by the formula: wherein R, R?, R1, R?1, R2, R?2, R3, R?3, R4, R?4, R5, R?5, R6, R?6, R7, R?7, R8, R?8, R9, R?9, M, X, Y, Z and n are defined herein for use as contrast agents in diagnostic imaging.

Abstract: The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions and methods using such compositions for the treatment of inflammatory disease, specifically rheumatoid arthritis. Such compositions contain a catalyst for the dismutation of superoxide which is a low molecular weight organic ligand derived metal complexes that function as mimics of the superoxide dismutase enzyme (SOD mimetics or SODms).
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods of preventing and/or treating HIV-mediated central nervous system damage. The method comprises administering to a subject therapeutic amounts of non-proteinaceous catalysts for the dismutation of superoxide to a subject either alone or in combination with a HIV anti-viral agent. The compounds of the invention are particularly suitable for treating and/or preventing AIDS Dementia Complex.
