  • Patent number: 6439641
Abstract: The profiled seal which is provided to produce a sealing arrangement between a vertically sliding window pane and a roof frame of a cabriolet comprises a metal carrier rail and a length of profiled elastomer co-extruded with the carrier rail. The profiled seal has a three-dimensional shape and can be attached to connection parts of the roof frame by attachment elements. At least two assembly regions of the carrier rail which protrude out of the length of profiled elastomer transversely to the longitudinal direction and cooperate with the attachment elements are provided disposed in the longitudinal direction of the profiled seal at a mutually spaced disposition.

  • Patent number: 6434885
Abstract: A movable window unit having a window glass which can be moved between a closed end position in a well of a door and an open end position by a motorized drive. The motorized drive comprises an electric motor which is controlled by a motor control. To reduce undesirable noises which may arise during the movement of the window glass, the motor is operated by the motor control to repeatedly vary the speed of displacement of the window glass.

  • Patent number: 6435597
Abstract: A profiled seal for sealing between a vertically sliding window pane and a roof frame of a convertible automobile comprises a length of profiled elastomer which is co- extruded with a metal reinforcement. The profiled seal has a three-dimensional shape and can be fixed to connection parts of the roof frame. A holding section having a U-shaped cross-section is part of the length of profiled elastomer and contains the embedded reinforcement which is likewise U-shaped in cross-section. A sealing section is formed laterally as one on a first limb of the holding section which can be placed in a self-clamping and sealing manner on an attachment flange. A foot formed as one on the first limb comprises on a first longitudinal edge adjacent to a free longitudinal edge of the first limb a longitudinal groove into which a dimensionally stable edge flange of a roof of the convertible engages.

  • Patent number: 6073936
Abstract: A vehicle seal (1) comprises an elastic molded sealing member (19) with holes through which clips (16) on a fastening rail (11) made of plastics material extend into anchoring holes in a vehicle body. The molded sealing member (19) is made in a molding tool (2) by being injected on to and vulcanized to the fastening rail (11) which is laid within the molding tool. The molding tool (2) is divided and includes a molding recess (8) in which the fastening rail (11) is laid. On one mold part (6), for each clip (16), there is provided a cap (9) which sealingly encircles the clip (16) and which extends into the molding recess (8) when the molding tool (2) is closed. Each cap (9), when the molding tool (2) is closed has its free edge (18) pressed into sealing contact with a base (12) of the fastening rail (11) which carries the clips (16). A coupling layer (15) is provided between the fastening rail (11) and the molded seal (19).

  • Patent number: 6030022
Abstract: The sealing profile (5) comprises an inherently stable carrier rail (7) which is injection-coated over a part of its periphery with an elastomeric profile strip (8). On a peripheral portion (10) without elastomer lie heads (9) of fixing members (6) which are screwed into roof guides (4) of the folding soft top (2). Sealing lips (17, 18) take care of the sealing in relation to a side window (21). A further sealing lip (22) effects sealing in relation to the roof cover (24).

  • Patent number: 5840401
Abstract: Sealing profile for motor vehicles and method of manufacture thereof. The sealing profile (1) comprises a retaining part (2) of U-shaped cross-section and sealing parts (3, 4) formed thereon. On an inner surface (13) of a bridge (5) of the retaining part (2) there is positioned an elastomeric mixture which can be vulcanized to a permanently elastic, permanently adhesive and open-cell foamed sealing strand (14). The sealing strand (14) is deformed during the fitting of the sealing profile (1) by a bodywork flange of a motor vehicle. In this way the retaining part (2) provides a reliable seal relative to the flange.

  • Patent number: 5780793
Abstract: A safety switch (1) has a support (2) of an elastomer and a through-going cavity (3). Within the cavity (3) are arranged electrical conductors (4) and (5) which in a rest condition are arranged at a distance (9) from one another. The electrical conductors (4, 5) are each formed as a strip of carbon fibers and have one broad side (6) and (7) vulcanized to the support (2) either directly or by way of a coupling layer (8). Substantially perpendicular pressure (12, 13) on the safety switch (1) leads to the deformation of the support (2) and eventually to the contact of the electrical conductors (4, 5) with each other. By this means, safety functions are controlled.

  • Patent number: 5736215
Abstract: A compound profile (43) consists of a fastening section (33) of a thermoplastic plastics material as well as profile sections (30, 31) of elastomeric material, namely a profile section (30) of expanded rubber and a profile section (31) of soft rubber. All sections (30, 31, 33) are fixed to one another by co-extrusion and co-vulcanization. The plastics material fastening section (33) assumes the function of the conventional metallic reinforcement of the compound profile (43). The compound profile (43) can be three-dimensionally shaped in that it is heated up to the plasticization temperature of the fastening section (33), then is brought to the desired shape in a shaping tool, and in that shape is cooled until the fastening section (33) has again returned to its non-plastic state. One thus creates a profile part which is stable in shape.
