Abstract: An interchangeable, two piece, adapter wire harness for installing different aftermarket autosound components in different vehicles, characterized by a fixed wiring scheme at an intermediate interconnect. A first piece of the interconnect is coupled by a first set of wires permanently to an autosound component-specific connector and a second piece of the interconnect is coupled by a second set of wires permanently to a vehicle wiring harness-specific connector. The set of possible separate autosound circuit functions is determined by those terminals corresponding to each circuit which are present at corresponding locations in both mated pieces.

Abstract: A mounting kit for mounting one of various types of radios or the like to support brackets in a vehicle. The kit includes a radio housing, mounting brackets and shaft supports. The mounting brackets can be used with the radio housing to mount an ISO-DIN radio. The shaft supports can be used with the housing to mount a two-shaft radio. Only the radio housing need be used when installing a DIN radio with a DIN cage.

Abstract: A universal keyed mounting kit for mounting a radio or the like to support brackets in the vehicle includes at least one mounting bracket member having a hole therein for attachment to the radio. The mounting bracket has a plurality of apertures each for passing therethrough a locking bracket. Each aperture includes a key structure for matching with a key structure on the locking bracket. A plurality of locking brackets are provided, each for passing through a corresponding aperture of the mounting bracket from a radio side of the mounting bracket to an outside thereof. Each locking member has a key structure for engaging the key structure of the corresponding mounting bracket. This eliminates the need for screws, nuts and bolts, glue, etc. for fixing the locking brackets to the mounting brackets. Preferably, the mounting brackets have a plurality of apertures at different angles so that the mounting bracket may be adapted to a wide variety of vehicle models.

Abstract: An add-on locking mechanism for a vehicle hood is provided in addition to a standard hood locking arrangement. The locking mechanism includes a mounting plate which is mounted on a support plate of the locking arrangement, and a locking latch that is pivotally mounted on the mounting plate. The locking latch engages and disengages a hasp which is mounted on the hood and with which a pivotable catch of the locking arrangement also cooperates. The locking latch is operated by a Bowden cable which is connected to a key-operated lock situated in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The cable core of the Bowden cable is connected to the locking latch, while the jacket is mounted on a mounting bracket that is mounted on the mounting plate.
