Patents Assigned to Metropolitan Air Technology
  • Patent number: 11428436
Abstract: A system for controlling airflow in a plenum, that comprises a worm gear and planetary gear that are removably coupled to a worm shaft and planetary shaft, respectively. The planetary shaft controls the movement of a damper between an open position permitting maximum airflow through the plenum, and a closed position restricting airflow through the plenum. A motor or gear-motor is positioned at the plenum for driving the worm shaft. The motor is controlled by a remotely located controller that includes a power supply for operating the motor and that has a display providing a continuous indication of the position of the damper between the open and closed positions. The controller is connected to the motor through a cable with a detachable electrical connection between the cable and the controller, such as a jack and plug. A wall plate for housing the electrical connection is mounted on a wall or other structure.

  • Patent number: 7866611
Abstract: A bracket for mounting a cable to a surface is presented. The bracket restricts lateral and longitudinal movement of a cable while enabling rotational movement. The bracket may be mounted to a first surface so that the cable may be inserted into a second surface. The bracket generally includes a mounting portion, first and second flanges, and an arm. To reduce longitudinal movement of the cable, the cable is inserted through the first flange and fixedly coupled to a ferrule, which is coupled between the second flange and the notch of the arm. To restrict lateral movement of the cable, a first flange includes a tab that when in a raised position, enables the cable to be inserted through the first flange. After which, the tab is lowered to reduce the size of the aperture. The bracket may also include a cap that is fixedly removable from the cable.

  • Patent number: 7793917
Abstract: A termination system for a cable integrated to control a damper, wherein an end portion of the cable is provided about an opening formed in a ceiling or wall, the system includes: a suspension mount having a base and an opened region, the base has an aperture to receive the cable a retaining bar is secured to the suspension mount such that the ceiling or wall is positioned between the suspension mount and the retaining bar and such that the opened region of the suspension mount is positioned over the opening formed in the ceiling or wall, the retaining bar further including a central opening; and a cap having an inside portion and a peg extending from the inside portion, the cap further having an outer periphery sized larger than the retaining bar and larger than the opening formed in the ceiling or wall, and the central opening of the retaining bar is sized to engage the peg, wherein engagement of the peg with the central opening enables the cap to obscure from visibility the retaining bar, the opening in th
