  • Patent number: 4221627
Abstract: A device for connecting steel cord web sections, consisting of steel cord webs having steel threads disposed in a longitudinal direction, to form a steel cord web with steel threads disposed at an angle to the longitudinal direction of the original steel cord web. This device comprises a conveyor belt means having a plurality of narrow belts for feeding the steel cord web sections and retaining means for clamping the seam portions of the steel cord web sections to be connected. Also included are means for bringing together and joining, at a connecting point, the connection faces of the seam portions of the steel cord sections to be connected. The improvement of this invention lies in the conveyor belt means comprising an incoming conveyor belt having an upper section extending beneath the connection point and an outgoing conveyor belt having a plurality of narrow belts spaced with respect to one another for advancing the steel cord web which is produced.

  • Patent number: 4138307
Abstract: An axially and radially adjustable construction drum for pneumatic tires in which the drum has a variable width and is radially extensible and comprises two basic members, the relative distance between which is adjustable on an internal tube through a spindle and a screwthreaded sleeve with screw thread portions in opposite directions, in which the basic members support ring segments whose external surfaces form approximately cylindrical working surfaces and which are radially adjustable through bellows and on which is situated a resilient bandage with inflatable members disposed therebelow for holding over the edges of plies and between which is retained a middle portion which is radially extensible in the longitudinal direction of the drum.

  • Patent number: 4120717
Abstract: A loading device for supplying cord strips, intended for the belt or body of a tire, to a tire assembly drum. The loading device is comprised of a plurality of guide units displaceably mounted for longitudinal movement relative to the tire assembly drum. Each guide unit includes devices for storing a cord strip and a backing strip, for deflecting, for initially separating the cord strip from the backing strip, for final separation and removal of the cord strip from the backing strip, for winding up the backing strip, for guiding the cord strip in a short compensating loop and for delivering the cord strip to the tire assembly drum. The guide units also contain driving mechanisms for each of the above devices. The compensating loop device is rigidly mounted between the separating device and the delivering device.

  • Patent number: 4099656
Abstract: A multi-purpose carrying bag or case having a parallelepiped shape is provided. The carrying bag or case comprises a shell of a watertight and airtight, rip-resistant material, the shell having top and bottom portions, first and second longitudinal side portions and first and second end portions; a slot-type opening provided in said upper portion and being closeable by means of a watertight and airtight zipper; and a fill-valve provided in said shell for filling the interior of the carrying bag or case.

  • Patent number: 4072461
Abstract: A vulcanization mold for producing laminated bodies, particularly shoe soles of different and/or differently colored rubbers or plastics, the interfacial boundary between adjacent plies of the laminate forming non-planar surfaces, is provided. The mold includes several mold cavities, disposed one on top of the other for forming the individual layers of the laminate, the mold cavities being separated by intermediate plates which are removable from the mold following a prevulcanization to allow for uniting of the premolded individual layers into the desired laminated body. A middle plate freely moveable in the direction of opening and closing of the mold together with two intermediate plates disposed on opposite sides thereof form the mold cavity for a central layer of the laminate, the surfaces of the middle plate being non-planar and corresponding to the adjacent surfaces of the intermediate plates.

  • Patent number: 4063320
Abstract: An inflatable boat includes a buoyant body having a pair of elongated lateral portions which are arcuately raised at both the bow region and the stern region thereof, a stern bulkhead connected to the lateral portions and extending between them, and a bottom which is water-tightly connected to the lateral portions and to the stern bulkhead and defines a compartment therewith. The lateral portions are constituted by inflatable tubular elements which are interconnected at the bow region of the inflatable boat by a rigid connecting element. The stern regions of the tubular elements extend beyond the stern bulkhead and arcuately converge toward one another in the rearward direction, being spaced from one another by a distance which at least corresponds to the maximum diameter of the tubular elements. A support element is mounted on the stern regions, and a rudder is mounted on the support element with freedom of movement relative thereto.

  • Patent number: 4031580
Abstract: A deck portion of an inflatable boat has, when inflated, a plurality of alternating external bulges and grooves extending substantially longitudinally of the boat and diverging at the front part of the deck portion in the rearward direction of the boat so as to be spaced the greatest transverse distance at an access opening in which a user of the boat sits to thereby laterally divert water splashing on the deck during travel of the boat. A rigid seat shell is received in the opening and supported in the deck and hull portions of the boat. A collar surrounds the access opening and has a sealing portion which sealingly contacts a portion of the seat shell to prevent seepage of water between the collar and the seat shell. The seat shell may be used as a container for accommodating the deflated and folded boat. The seat may be equipped with a carrying belt so that it can be transported on the back of the user.

  • Patent number: 4023438
Abstract: A hub element of the vibration damper is adapted for connection to a shaft and has a first circumferentially extending support surface. An inertia element surrounds the hub element and has a circumferentially extending second support surface. An elastomeric member is compressed between these surfaces and mounts the inertia element on the hub element with freedom of vibration. An arrangement is provided on one or the other of the elements for continuously varying the characteristic frequency of vibration of the damper, by subjecting the elastomeric member in axial or radial direction to continuously variable compression.
