Abstract: An accessory mounting assembly is provided for removably attaching an accessory to a vehicle. The assembly includes a frame assembly and a grasping assembly. The frame assembly is for semi-permanent fixation to a vehicle and includes a vehicle fixation portion for fixing to the vehicle and an accessory mounting portion for mounting an accessory onto the frame assembly. The accessory mounting portion includes a lower grabbable element, an upper grabbable element substantially parallel to and spaced apart from the lower grabbable element by a first distance, and at least one locating feature for positioning a grasping assembly. The grasping assembly for grasping the accessory mounting portion of the frame assembly includes at least one lower hook for grasping the lower grabbable element, and at least one upper hook for grasping the upper grabbable element, and an accessory mount for locating an accessory relative to the grasping assembly.

Abstract: An auxiliary apparatus may be used with a vehicle. The auxiliary apparatus may include an auxiliary implement, an auxiliary lighting system and auxiliary wiring. When the auxiliary wiring is properly connected: (1) an operator adjustable auxiliary implement control is operable to operate the auxiliary implement; (2) an operator adjustable auxiliary light control is operable to operate an auxiliary headlight; and, (3) an operator adjustable vehicle light control is operable to operate an auxiliary supplemental light.

Abstract: A snowplow assembly may include a support member, a mount member, and an actuator. The mount member may be operatively connected to a plow blade and pivotally connected to the support member and the mount member may pivot about a substantially vertical axis with respect to the support member. The mount member may include a first stop member for limiting the pivotal motion of the mount member about the substantially vertical axis in a first direction. The actuator may pivot the mount frame about the substantially vertical axis and a first end of the actuator may be operatively connected to the snowplow assembly and a second end may be pivotally connected to the mount member.

Abstract: A snowplow assembly includes a mount assembly operatively connected to an associated vehicle, a plow blade assembly pivotally connected to the mount assembly, and a cylinder with a first end pivotally connected to the mount assembly and a second end pivotally connected to the plow blade assembly. The cylinder can include at least one resilient member. The resilient member exerts a force in a first direction when the plow blade assembly is in a first angled position, and the resilient member exerts a force in a second direction when the plow blade assembly is in a second angled position.

Abstract: In summary, therefore, the inventive method and apparatus enables one to mount and dismount an implement, such as a snow plow, from a vehicle, such as a pickup truck, with a heretofore unknown simplicity. The method mounting the plow basically comprises the steps of driving the vehicle toward the blade assembly until the frame assembly mounted on the front of the vehicle is in operative proximity to the blade assembly. Generally, that proximity is established by just touching the blade assembly with the frame assembly.
