    Abstract: Coal char produced by the pyrolytic destructive thermal distillation of coal in the absence of oxygen is beneficiated, ground and sized and then is admixed in suitable portions with a liquid organic fraction to form a combustible, liquid-solid mixture which is a nonpolluting, stable, transportable, high energy fuel composition. Preferably, the liquid organic fraction is obtained from the low boiling fractions derived from the pyrolysis of coal.
