Publication number: 20120050072Abstract: Disclosed are a metal fm pipe foundation apparatus and method for airport approach lighting and method of making, using, and installing a metal fin pipe foundation for airport approach lighting. The metal fin pipe foundation (MFPF) of the present invention requires a small 16 inch diameter hole to be drilled approximately 8 feet deep. The MFPF, in one aspect, consists of 16 inch diameter schedule 30 pipe 6 feet long with two (2) ? inch thick flat plate fins which are 6 feet in length, and which are welded to the 16 inch schedule 30 pipe. A top plate 5 feet in length, 1 foot 6 inches in width, and ¾ inch thick is attached by welding the top plate to the top of the 16 inch pipe and the top of the ? inch fins After the MFPF of the present invention is completely fabricated, it is dipped in hot galvanizing to protect the raw steel. This coating of galvanizing protects the MFPF for 75 years. The MFPF of the present invention can be fabricated off site and shipped to the airport ready for installation.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2011Publication date: March 1, 2012Applicant: MFPF, INC.Inventor: Gary L. Patent number: 7988316Abstract: An airport inset light adjustable alignment container set provides a light fixture and stainless steel support for airport runway, taxiway, or other aircraft ground traffic areas. A variable length extension means rotatably adjusts height and azimuth by a rotatable vertical displacement. In one aspect, a previously installed, airport inset light and stainless steel base of the present invention receives a variable length extension assembly for rotatably adjusting the height and azimuth alignment of an airport inset light. Rotation locking means are provided for securing the rotatable adjustment apparatus from further rotation. A novel stainless steel base is adapted to receive various different designs of inset lights and, in one aspect, to provide a stainless steel protection ring “mud dam.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2004Date of Patent: August 2, 2011Assignee: MFPF, Inc.Inventor: Gary L. Patent number: 7621098Abstract: Vertical segmented support and media consolidation plates swingably mounted about pivot points on the vertical segmented support, incorporate media-facing surfaces swingable outwardly from the vertical support means into the surrounding media. Varying segmented lengths form the segmented vertical segmented support. The novel segmented apparatus and installation method further provide for a centering collar 113, an anchor positioning means at level force pivoting plates 194, and pivoting plates 194 positioned 40-50 degrees from vertical. A frusto-cone 197 dx equal to a predetermined distance of one-half inch forms gap 204. The novel method installs an anchor and foundation device in the earth by preparing a hole in the earth, lowering into the hole a segmented anchor or foundation device having swingable media facing plates, and applying force to swing the plates outwardly into the surrounding media.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2002Date of Patent: November 24, 2009Assignee: MFPF, Inc.Inventor: Gary L.
