Abstract: An inclined lift device for transporting an individual passenger includes a rail, a carriage adapted for being movable along the rail, a drive mechanism coupled to the carriage for moving the carriage along the rail, and a support secured to the carriage for supporting the individual passenger. The rail has at least one retaining surface and a guide surface. The carriage includes a housing pivotally coupled to the rail about an axis spaced from the guide surface, a retaining mechanism pivotally coupled to the housing about the axis and a follower coupled to the housing and spaced from the axis by a predetermined distance. The retaining mechanism engages said at least one retaining surface of the rail to retain the carriage relative to the rail during movement of the carriage along the rail. The follower engages the guide surface to pivot the carriage about the axis based upon a distance between the guide surface and the axis.

Abstract: An improved vehicle lift assembly for loading and unloading objects into and from a vehicle includes a base configured for being mounted to the vehicle, a vertical post extending from the base, an extension boom extending outward from a centerline of the post, a swing arm rotatably coupled to the extension arm, extension boom, an engaging mechanism supported by the swing arm for releasably engaging the object, and an actuator for raising and lowering the engaging mechanism to raise and lower the engaged object.

Abstract: A stairway chairlift device has a rail incorporating a gear rack, a carriage unit having a motor and gear box which operatively engage the gear rack to provide motion of the chairlift, and a collapsible seat assembly mounted to the carriage unit. The carriage unit also incorporates a battery unit and control circuitry to control operation of the chairlift. The electrical system also incorporates an automatic recharging circuit any time the chairlift is at the bottom or top of the rail. The seat assembly is easily pivoted on a swivel mechanism which permits the seat assembly to be locked in one of three positions--right 90.degree., front or left 90.degree..

Abstract: A motor vehicle having a vertically openable access door includes a reinforcement bracket for each cylinder mounting. The bracket is bent to provide tortional and other force absorption capability. The bracket is also of sufficient size to cover the immediate area where a cylinder is mounted and any remote locations where forces may be applied through a moment arm created by rotation and exertion of a force on the vehicle by a cylinder. The cylinders may be hydraulically operated to effectuate opening and closing of the door.

Abstract: An equipment mounting system includes a fixed leg and a second leg pivotable thereon. Equipment mounted at the free end of the second leg is pivotable to a position which is clear of a motor vehicle access location. When the mounting system is locked in a closed position, the equipment is operable. Further, whenever the mounting system is not locked in a closed position, one or more disabling devices prohibit operation of the equipment.

Abstract: An adjustable support base for portable vehicle mounted equipment includes a perpendicular pair of support legs adjustable relative to one another. Each leg is adjustable in length and anchorable to the vehicle on which the equipment is being mounted. A plate mounting system is angularly adjustable and secures the vehicle mounted equipment to the base provided by the support legs.
