Publication number: 20170326913Abstract: Adapter for a rolling assembly comprising a tire, and a rim having two rim seats and two rim flanges. The adapter has an axially inner end mounted on the rim seat and comprises an inner reinforcing element, an axially outer end that comprises an outer reinforcing element, a body that connects the two ends to form a single piece. A substantially cylindrical adapter seat is configured to receive a bead, and is situated at the axially outer end of the body. An adapter bearing face is substantially contained in a plane perpendicular to the rotation axis, and situated on the axially inner face of the axially outer end. The reinforcing element of the axially outer end is entirely situated axially outside the bearing face. The body comprises, opposite the adapter seat, an annular seat reinforcer. The inner wall of the tire is covered by a layer of a self-sealing composition.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2015Publication date: November 16, 2017Applicants: COMPAGNIE GENERALE DES ETABLISSEMENTS MICHELIN, MICHELIN RECHERCE ET TECHNIQUE S.A.Inventors: Jose MERINO LOPEZ, Michel AHOUANTO

Publication number: 20170326916Abstract: Tire (1) for a motorized two-wheeled vehicle of the motorbike type. A good compromise between the stability of the motorbike in a straight line at high speed and the stability of the motorbike in a curved path with a high camber angle is achieved with reinforcers of a first carcass layer (61) that form, with the circumferential direction (XX?), an angle (A1) at most equal to 75°, the reinforcers of a second carcass layer (62) form, with the circumferential direction, an angle (A2) at least equal to 80° and at most equal to 90°, the difference between the angles (A1, A2) of the respective reinforcers of the first and second carcass layers (61, 62) is at least equal to 10° and at most equal to 20° and the angles (A1, A2) of the respective reinforcers of the first and second carcass layers (61, 62) are oriented in the same direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2015Publication date: November 16, 2017Applicants: COMPAGNIE GENERALE DES ETABLISSEMENTS MICHELIN, MICHELIN RECHERCE ET TECHNIQUE S.A.Inventors: Benjamin VILPERT, Alexandra CURAT, Christophe LAURENT, Romain BOUCHET

Publication number: 20150290980Abstract: Particular embodiments of the present invention comprise a tire tread having a length and a width. The tread further includes a thickness bounded by a top side for engaging a surface during tire operation and a bottom side. Moreover, the tread includes a top side void arranged along the top side of the tread and defining a wall extending depthwise within the tread thickness from the top side. Finally, the tread includes a projection extending outwardly from the wall and to a terminal end of the projection, the projection having a top side and a bottom side defining a thickness of the projection, the projection also having a length extending longitudinally along a length of the wall, the length of the wall extending perpendicular to a depthwise direction of the tread thickness. Further embodiments comprise a tire including a tire carcass and a tread as described in the preceding paragraph.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2012Publication date: October 15, 2015Applicants: Michelin Recherce Et Technique S.A., Compagnie Generale Des Etablissements MichelinInventor: Zuqing QU
