Abstract: A method for precisely controlling the volume of a product such as a tire tread or tire that is placed into a mold is provided. This method includes providing a tread or tire that is built upon a portable mold core by laying a series of layers on the portable mold core. The outer diameter of the lire tread or lire is initially built to be purposely smaller than the interior surfaced of the mold in order to prevent any interference from occurring between the mold and the tire tread once the tire tread and core are placed within the mold and the mold is closed. The weight of the tire tread or tire is measured to see if the volume of the tire tread or tire is within acceptable parameters to fit within the mold. If not, additional material is added to the tire or tire tread.

Abstract: The invention relates to a tire having a radial carcass reinforcement, consisting of at least one layer of metal reinforcing elements, said tire including a top reinforcement, which is covered radially with a tread, said tread being joined to two beads via two sidewalls. According to the invention, the reinforcing elements of at least one carcass reinforcement layer are metal cables which, in the so-called permeability test, have a flow rate less than 20 cm3/mn and at least 10% of said metal cables are banded by a strand consisting of multifilament textile fibers.

Abstract: A rubber composition which can be used in particular in tires, based on at least one diene elastomer, one reinforcing filler, one crosslinking system, one phenolic resin and one polyaldehyde. The use of a polyaldehyde makes it possible to advantageously replace conventional methylene donors while preventing the production of formaldehyde during the vulcanization of the rubber compositions and thus to limit the environmental impact of these compounds. Furthermore, these polyaldehyde compounds make it possible not only to obtain rubber compositions exhibiting the same low-strain stiffness as conventional rubber compositions using HMT or H3M methylene donors but also, surprisingly, to greatly improve the fatigue strength of the rubber compositions and thus the endurance of the tires.

Abstract: A tire tread includes at least one longitudinal rib limited by grooves. Each rib includes a plurality of incisions each opening into the grooves. Each incision has at least three parts at least two at least of these parts being of essentially transverse orientation and opening into the grooves. At least one other part is oriented essentially in the longitudinal direction. All parts of the incision of essentially longitudinal orientation are devoid any structure for blocking relative movement between the opposing faces of the incision. The parts of essentially transverse orientation include structure for limiting the amplitude of the relative movements of these faces at least in the direction of the thickness of the tread.
