Abstract: This invention relates generally to shear band of a tire that has means for inducing buckling when the tire is subjected to high deformations, and, more specifically, to a tire that has a shear band with at least one membrane that has a reinforcement having predetermined configurations for controlling the buckling behavior of the reinforcement when the membrane is subjected to compressive stress.

Abstract: A tire with a radial carcass reinforcement comprising a crown reinforcement, itself radially capped by a tread strip, the said tread strip being connected to two beads via two sidewalls, the carcass reinforcement being anchored in each of the beads to form an anchorage region. The tire additionally comprises, in part of at least each of the anchorage regions, at least two layers formed by circumferential winding of a complex strip formed of two layers consisting of continuous reinforcing elements passing from one layer to the other, the said reinforcing elements being parallel within a layer and crossed from one layer to the other at angles with respect to the circumferential direction that are identical in terms of absolute value.

Abstract: A wheel having a rim with first and second rim seats, at least the first rim seat having a generatrix, the axially outer end of which is on a circle of diameter less than the diameter of the circle on which the axially inner end is located, the first rim seat being extended axially outward by a low protrusion or hump and axially inward by a bearing surface intended to receive a tread support ring, and a wheel disk, joined on the side of the first rim seat to the radially inner wall of the rim, characterized in that the rim bearing surface includes first and second support zones separated by a circumferential groove which opens radially outward.
