    Abstract: A method for correcting erroneously encoded optical character recognition indicia through the application of a solution containing ferric chloride to the erroneously encoded indicia to effectively quench the florescense of the indicia when excited by ultraviolet light. The solution is permitted to dry and new ultraviolet excitable ink is utilized to re-encode the document over the quenched erroneously encoded indicia.
