Abstract: An image display station provides real time selectively zoomed direct display of a received high resolution image stored in image memory. The memory provides storage of the image input data for making available for pixel processing in each of subsequent clock intervals successive groups of adjacent pixel data values throughout a portion to be displayed of the image. User zoom control, by mouse input, selectively establishes a zoom factor for zooming of the input image. User pan control allows selecting display of desired regions of the zoomed image. User contrast control of the zoomed image is provided also by the mouse. Bilinear pixel processing of the successive groups of adjacent pixel data values is carried out throughout the displayed portion of input data within the time period of a single video display frame in accordance with the zoom factor established by the mouse input for such frame.
