Abstract: A wrist type bloodpressure monitor (1) is provided with an interface connector (16) for calibration purposes. The correct values of the blood pressure are measured with a calibration device (20) including an upper arm blood pressure measuring monitor (11). The values (D′, S′) measured in this way are used to recalibrate the wrist type blood pressure monitor (1). The wrist type blood pressure monitor (1) is therefore provided with an editable memory (5) for the purpose of recalibration.
Abstract: A system for monitoring medical data of a patient comprises at least one central computer and at least one terminal device for measuring and storing medical data. The terminal device has a communication interface for exchange of data with the central computer. Computer readable program means can be loaded from the central computer into the terminal device.
Abstract: In a device or in a method for oscillometric measurement of the blood pressure, the pulse time differences are determined associated with the measurement of the blood pressure. Subsequent pulse time differences are stored in a storing unit (15). A distribution of pulse time differences is calculated in a calculating unit (16) and compared in a comparing unit (17) with predetermined reference values. If the distribution or the values of pulse time differences exceed a predetermined amount, an indication means (19) is activated which indicates existence of arrhythmic activities.
Abstract: A blood pressure measuring device is operatable in a first operating mode (M1) and in a second operating mode (M2). In the first operating mode, blood pressure values are based on one single measurement. In a second operating mode (M2), a mean value (SA, DA) of the systolic and the diastolic blood pressure is calculated on the basis of subsequent measurement values. The blood pressure monitor (1) is provided with means (2) for switching between the first operating mode (M1) and the second operating mode (M2).

Abstract: A medical thermometer for measuring the temperature of a patient comprises a metal tip (2) with an outer contact surface (3) for contacting the tissue of a patient. A temperature sensor (4) mounted within the metal tip (2) is used to produce a signal which represents the temperature of the metal tip (2). The temperature is displayed on a display (5). The metal tip surrounds a substantially hollow cavity (8) and is of a length (L) which is at least three times, preferably five times larger than the diameter of the metal tip (2). The metal tip (2) is free from additional heating means.
