  • Publication number: 20190288251
Abstract: The invention concerns an energy storage system and method to install the energy storage elements, subsequently called “energy tiles”, of the system on solid or flexible, flat or curved surfaces of any orientation. Individual energy tiles are identical in size, capacity and voltage and shaped like ceramic tiles. They cover free surfaces by a combination of serially and parallel connected energy tiles. The installation produces a pattern similar to that of ceramic tiles. An energy tile can be a lithium battery or a supercapacitor cell. Candidates for the installation are wall surfaces of buildings, internal and external roof surfaces, the back side of solar panels, tents and internal and external vehicle surfaces. The storage elements are individually removable without disturbing the remaining energy tiles of the system.

  • Patent number: 6397490
Abstract: A flash drying apparatus has a vertical, cylindrical enclosure. In a lower portion of this enclosure is disposed a rotating disk. Above this disk is provided a crusher that, using blades formed radially thereon, crushes a raw material into a powdery or granular material. The crusher is provided with a material feeder that feeds the raw material to the crusher by letting the raw material fall onto the crusher. A hot wind feeder feeds a hot wind to the powdery or granular material from under the blades. The powdery or granular material blown upward inside the enclosure by the hot wind is exhausted through an exhaust duct provided in an upper portion of the enclosure. This flash drying apparatus prevents degradation in performance resulting from deposition of a raw material.

  • Patent number: 5986750
Abstract: By the side of a powdery or granular material stacked in a conical pile on a horizontal surface, a sensor that emits sensor light and, by receiving light reflected from a spot illuminated by the sensor light, detects the distance to the pile of the powdery or granular material is placed with the optical axis of the sensor light horizontal. While the sensor is moved in a horizontal direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the sensor light, the distance to each of a plurality of measurement points arranged horizontally at regular intervals along a line that runs on said pile of the powdery or granular material so as to face the movement path of the sensor. This step is performed every time the sensor is moved vertically a predetermined distance at a time. In each session of the step, a point is extracted that is closest to the sensor, and a function describing a straight line approximating the curve through all of the thus extracted points is determined by the least-squares method.

  • Patent number: 5081072
Abstract: A manufacturing method of a superconducting material having the steps of: milling and mixing a powderly primary material in a casing of a dry type milling mixer; heat-processing the primary material obtained from the milling/mixing step; and again milling and mixing the primary material obtained from the heat-processing step in the casing of the milling mixer so as to obtain a secondary material. The milling mixer includes a casing for holding the primary material therein and friction-pulverizing mixing elements for frictionally pulverizing, stirring and mixing the primary material inside the casing. The two milling/mixing steps are effected under a high-speed rotation of the casing where a centrifugal force resulting from the casing rotation presses the primary material against an inner surface of the casing and a layer of the material formed on the surface is frictionally pulverized, stirred and mixed by the friction-pulverizing mixture elements.
