  • Patent number: 9967421
Abstract: An image scanning system of the present invention uses an image capturing unit moving unidirectionally along an optical axis direction, such that an object is positioned within a range of the depth of field of the image capturing unit. The optical axis direction is perpendicular to a plane, and a platform bearing the object and the plane form an included angle, such that multiple inclined surfaces of the object face the same end of a scanning direction, or such that one of the multiple inclined surfaces is parallel to the plane and other inclined surfaces face the same end of the scanning direction, wherein the scanning direction is parallel to the plane. Therefore, in the process of one-time scan, the scanning height of the image capturing unit only rises unidirectionally or descends unidirectionally and has no turning point, and thus, no backlash problem will happen.

  • Patent number: 8300281
Abstract: A calibrating device including a pixel unit array and a pattern is provided. The pixel unit array comprises parallel warp lines and parallel weft lines. Each warp line crosses each weft line to define pixel units all over the pixel unit array. The pattern comprises some pixel units having a gray level different from a gray level of remainder pixel units in the pixel unit array. The pattern comprises spaced bars parallel to one another and not parallel to the warp lines and the weft lines. A characteristic of the pattern is utilized to define target pixel units and comparison pixel units, and the comparison procedure is implemented with the characteristic of the pattern. Positions and gap sizes of gaps between image sensors are mapped out by comparing the target pixel units with the comparison pixel units. The quality of a scanned image is improved with compensation for the gaps.

  • Patent number: 7440150
Abstract: A flatbed scanner includes a housing, a glass plate fixed to the housing, a front rib formed at a bottom face of a front part of the housing and extending downward, a back rib formed at a bottom face of the back part of the housing and extending downward, and side ribs formed at two sides of the housing and extending toward the center of the housing. The inner distance from the back rib to the front rib is not smaller than the length of the glass plate. The side ribs are under the bottom faces of the front part and the back part so as to form a fastening gap. Because the distance between the side ribs is smaller than the width of the glass plate, when the glass plate is inserted into the fastening gap, the glass plate is held.

  • Patent number: 7408684
Abstract: A light source device capable of repressing light surges is fixed in a flatbed scanner to provide a light beam for scanning a document. The light source device includes a bent lamp with bent parts for generating the light beam and compensating for the brightness at two ends of the bent lamp; and a set of obscuring units fixed at the two bent parts to partially obscure the light of the lamp. Hence, the light source device can repress the light surge caused on two ends of the image sensor even if the bent parts at two ends of the lamp are very close to the sides of the scanning window. Therefore, the length of the light source device can be shortened and the width of the flatbed scanner using the light source device can also be narrowed.

  • Patent number: 7283685
Abstract: The invention provides a device that appends a recognition point for image joining to the extracted image and a recognition element thereof. The device is to provide a plurality of holding slots on a holding platform. Besides, a plurality of positioning slots is provided at the sidewall of each holding slot so that the holding slot can accommodate and fasten an object to be image-taken. Then, when the image of the object is extracted by the segmented extractions, the image of the positioning slot can also be extracted so as to obtain an image with a recognition mark. Thus, the recognition mark can be used as a benchmark for image joining in order to obtain a whole image of the object. Moreover, the recognition element is to provide a positioning opening concavely at the side edge of a sheet-body, and the positioning opening is tiny. Therefore, the invention can achieve an effect of easy, rapid, and precise image joining.
