    Abstract: An embodiment is disclosed of a method of making gloves, more particularly polyvinyl chloride (PVC) coated gloves. The method comprises providing a liner, and coating at least a part of the liner with a PVC paste to form a coating having an outer layer, applying particles of a soluble solid to the outer layer of the coating and curing the outer layer. Preferably, the method further comprises gelling the outer layer after applying the particles and contacting the gelled outer layer with a solvent before curing. Preferably, the soluble solid comprises a solid acid.

    Abstract: A double layer knitted glove is disclosed, the glove comprising a first yarn and a second yarn, the knitted glove comprising at least eight glove components, the components including: five digit components, an upper palm component, a lower palm component, and a wrist component, wherein one or more of the components comprises at least one functional zone comprising a single layer. Also disclosed is a knitted glove wherein each component comprises a plurality of courses, each course comprising a first yarn and wherein more than 50% of the courses of each component are plaited with a second yarn to provide a double layer component and wherein, in at least one component, predetermined functional zones of the component are single layer. Finally, a method for producing a double layer knitted glove is also disclosed. The inventive gloves are flexible, comfortable with enhanced fit and also functional.

    Abstract: A method to prepare a flexible and breathable protective glove having excellent grip in both aqueous and oil environments includes coating an electrolyte treated glove liner substrate with a non-foamed dispersion of a polymeric material. The resulting semi-gelled polymeric coating which partially penetrates the depth of the glove liner substrate, is treated with a foamed solution of a surfactant, tenside or aerosol solution and the foam treated coating is overcoated with an electrolyte solution. In a resulting chemical or physical reaction, fine pores and cavities are formed in and on the polymer coating.
