  • Patent number: 10575419
Abstract: A package for housing an electric or electronic component is disclosed. The package includes a base and a header that includes a top portion and a support portion. The support portion has a first and a second end that defines a first and a second opening respectively. The top portion is secured to the first end and covers the first opening. The top portion includes a header vent to allow a substance (e.g., air, water, etc.) to flow into or out of an interior of the package. The header is configured to house the component therein. The header can be placed into a circular hole of the circuit board. The base is secured to the second end of the support portion, and is configured to secure the package to the circuit board. The vent can minimize moisture within the package and/or drain liquid from inside of the package.

  • Patent number: 6198374
Abstract: A multi-layer transformer includes a plurality of tapes having a magnetic core area disposed on at least one of the layers forming a magnetic core of the transformer. A primary winding is disposed on at least one of the layers. A secondary winding is disposed on at least one of the layers. A thin layer made of a lower permeability dielectric material is disposed proximate at least one of the windings. A first plurality of interconnecting vias connect the primary winding between the tapes. A second plurality of interconnecting vias connect the secondary winding between the tapes. Magnetic flux is induced to primarily flow into the core area. Magnetic coupling and dielectric breakdown between the windings are improved. A lower cost and smaller sized transformer can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6169801
Abstract: A digital isolation apparatus for coupling between a telecommunication network and a digital signal processing device. A CODEC is arranged to couple to the telecommunication network, convert a first set of analog signals from the telecommunication network to a first set of digital signals, and convert a second set of digital signals to a second set of analog signals to the telecommunication network. A digital isolation device, arranged to connect between the CODEC and the digital signal processing device, pass the first set of digital signals from the CODEC to the digital signal processing device, and pass the second set of digital signals from the digital signal processing device to the CODEC. A power supply assembly supplies power to the CODEC via the digital isolation device.

  • Patent number: 6054914
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for a multi-layer transformer includes a plurality of layers having a magnetic core area disposed on each of the layers forming a magnetic core of the transformer having a primary winding disposed on at least one of the layers, and a secondary winding disposed on at least one of the layers. A plurality of interconnecting vias connect the primary winding between the layers, and a second plurality of interconnecting vias connect the secondary winding between the layers. The interconnecting vias are disposed proximate a center of the magnetic core of the transformer, thus, reducing the overall volume, size, weight, and cost of a transformer while meeting regulatory isolation safety requirements.
