Patent number: 6736366Abstract: Adjacent tilt-up concrete wall panels are poured on a horizontal concrete floor or forming surface and are separated by a bulkhead device including a base member or channel of extruded semi-rigid plastics material and secured by screws to the forming surface. The base channel has upwardly projecting walls with inwardly projecting opposing teeth which releasably engage outwardly projecting teeth on spaced side walls of a generally U-shaped bulkhead member of extruded semi-rigid plastics material. The spaced side walls also have opposing ribs for gripping a bulkhead extension member, and the bulkhead member is also extruded with outwardly and downwardly projecting walls which have tapered lower edge portions engaging the forming surface to form chamfer corners on the concrete panels.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2002Date of Patent: May 18, 2004Assignees: Miller-Valentine Construction Inc., Fukuvi- USA, Inc.Inventors: Kurt S. Patent number: 6279868Abstract: Tilt-up concrete wall panels are poured on a horizontal concrete floor or forming surface and are provided with decorative recesses or rustications each formed by a device including an elongated clip or base member or channel of extruded semi-rigid plastics material and secured by fasteners to the forming surface. The base channel has upwardly projecting walls with inwardly projecting opposing teeth which releasably clip or engage outwardly projecting teeth on parallel spaced inner support walls of a generally flat rustication member of extruded semi-rigid plastics material. The rustication member is extruded with outwardly and downwardly projecting side or edge walls which have tapered lower edge portions engaging the forming surface to form precision recesses with beveled edge surfaces within the concrete panels.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 1999Date of Patent: August 28, 2001Assignee: Miller-Valentine Construction Inc.Inventors: Kurt S. Patent number: 6219982Abstract: Variable gaps between adjacent concrete panels are covered and sealed by a T-shaped body of extruded semi-rigid plastics material and which includes a one piece cover section and stem section of generally uniform wall thickness. The stem section has a set of parallel spaced flexible fins projecting from each side at an angle of 45° towards the cover section, and the fins increase in width from the distal end of the stem section towards the cover section. Each fin has parallel spaced triangular gripping ribs on its side facing away from the cover section for gripping opposing concrete surfaces defining gaps ranging generally from ½″ to 1¼″. In one embodiment, the cover section has a slightly crowned intermediate portion with tapered opposite edge portions, and in other embodiments, the intermediate portion is curved or configured to cover gaps defined within outside and inside corners formed by adjacent panels.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 2000Date of Patent: April 24, 2001Assignee: Miller-Valentine Construction Inc.Inventor: Kurt S.
