  • Patent number: 8962093
Abstract: A portable, manually operable, trigger-activated pump spray applicator can be used to apply paints and coating fluids in commercial and military end use applications, especially chemical agent resistant coating (CARC) fluids. The applicator includes an impermeable, preferably rigid-walled, container capped by a manually operable spray pump with a single fluid nozzle. The assembly has capability of producing an atomized spray of viscous coating fluids. The applicator includes internal agitators suitable to redisperse solid components of the coating fluid that settle after long-term storage. The agitators include a plurality of small, heavy spheres and a single large, heavy, striker. The inside bottom wall and side wall meet with a concave radius of curvature that matches the radius of the small spheres. The striker has a characteristic dimension of about 10-500% greater than the diameter of the small spheres.

  • Publication number: 20140238392
Abstract: A protective hood with air-purifying filter cartridge for safe escape from a hazardous atmosphere has a system for quickly donning the hood. A fabric strap attached to the rear of the hood has the strap lengths extending forward through circular rings near the chin. Optional enlarged ends prevent the strap from pulling rearward from the rings. Hook-and-loop fasteners are on the hood shell and the strap lengths. To deploy, the user simultaneously tugs on both strap ends to tighten the hood on the head then contacts the mating fastener parts to maintain strap tension. The hood is adjusted to optimum position on the head with a single motion. The hood is light weight and the shell is collapsible permitting the hood to fold on itself to extremely small volume for storage in an emergency kit or small personal luggage.

  • Patent number: 8539724
Abstract: Electrical power is generated from solar and wind sources thus reducing the need for fuel oil at military forward operating bases and main operating bases. A wind turbine and a solar cell panel are connected to a battery bank. Both the turbine and the solar cells are stored in two standard military shipping containers. When transported to the desired location, these sub-systems are easily set up for operation. The entire apparatus may be disassembled for re-transport and use at another location. Necessary container modifications to connect the system for use are made in such a way as not to alter the container's outside envelope, thus enabling normal transport of the container without damage to the modifications. Each of the solar cells have discs attached so that the solar panel can be assembled in the field by sliding each disc into a mounting channel.

  • Patent number: 8496015
Abstract: A standard military transportation container is positioned next to a waste water containment pad. Several connections are provided for on the side of container. One of these connectors is a fluid connection for containment pad relocatable waste water sump pump. Another of the connectors provides a power outlet for the system to be connected to an external source of electrical power. A third connector connects a pressure washer to the wash system. A vacuum cleaner connection, is provided on an opposite side of the container so that equipment may be vacuumed and washed simultaneously on opposite sides of the wash system. All connectors are flush mounted into the walls of container thus eliminating any protrusions which could otherwise interfere with container loading resulting in connector breakage and extra difficulties in container handling. A pressure washer, vacuum cleaner, pumps and electrical controls are located in the container.
