Patent number: 12602799Abstract: A registration chaining system provides information transfer along a chain of registrations of images of same or different modalities. A registration at each link is based on a shared feature readily distinguished in a pair of images. The information is transferred using the registration.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2022Date of Patent: April 14, 2026Assignee: MIM SOFTWARE INC.Inventor: Jonathan William Piper

Patent number: 12266120Abstract: An image fusion system provides a predicted alignment between images of different modalities and synchronization of the alignment, once acquired. A spatial tracker detects and tracks a position and orientation of an imaging device within an environment. A predicted pose of an anatomical feature can be determined, based on previously acquired image data, with respect to a desired position and orientation of the imaging device. When the imaging device is moved into the desired position and orientation, a relationship is established between the pose of the anatomical feature in the image data and the pose of the anatomical feature imaged by the imaging device. Based on tracking information provided by the spatial tracker, the relationship is maintained even when the imaging device moves to various positions during a procedure.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2023Date of Patent: April 1, 2025Assignee: MIM SOFTWARE INC.Inventor: Jonathan William Piper

Patent number: 12053648Abstract: A planning and fusion system provides enhanced planning of focal therapy. Treatment zones are virtually planned on MR image data. The treatment plan generated on MR image data is registered to a second modality associated with a treatment device.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2020Date of Patent: August 6, 2024Assignee: MIM SOFTWARE INC.Inventor: Jonathan William Piper

Patent number: 11763469Abstract: A registration technique is provided that can combine one or more related registrations to enhance accuracy of a registration of image volumes. A registration relationship between a first source volume and a target volume and a registration relationship between the first source volume and a second source volume are concatenated to provide an estimate of a registration relationship between the second source volume and the target volume. The estimate is utilized to inform the direct registration of the second source volume to the target volume or utilized in place of the direct registration.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2019Date of Patent: September 19, 2023Assignee: MIM Software Inc.Inventor: Jonathan William Piper

Patent number: 10599948Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for contouring a set of medical images. Deformation field data is generated between a source image and a target image of the set of medical images. The deformation field data relates structures in the source image to corresponding structures in the target image and is generated in accordance with a deformable registration algorithm. The deformation field data is utilized to generate target contour data associated with the target image from source contour data, associated with the source image, that identifies one or more objects within the source image.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2017Date of Patent: March 24, 2020Assignee: MIM SOFTWARE INC.Inventor: Jonathan William Piper

Patent number: 9842398Abstract: In accordance with the teachings described herein, systems and methods are provided for generating images for use in systems, e.g., imaging systems. The method includes receiving at least a first set of images, providing a first registration, providing a display, and displaying a first image on said display. Further, the method includes providing a user interface, providing a second registration, and displaying a second image in said user interface. Further, the systems include an image database, a display, and a registration engine. The registration engine includes software instructions stored in at least one memory device and executable by one or more processors.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 2015Date of Patent: December 12, 2017Assignee: MIM SOFTWARE INC.Inventors: Jerimy Brockway, Jonathan William Piper
