  • Patent number: 8811675
Abstract: A computer implemented method and system determines a center point of a circular object in an image. A circular object identification system identifies prospective center points of the circular object for each of multiple pixel points at a predetermined distance along a gradient direction determined for each of the pixel points, constructs an axis between the corresponding prospective center points and a corresponding pixel point, and locates prospective circumference points at predetermined angles from the constructed axis.

  • Patent number: 8787964
Abstract: An integrated RF front-end circuit comprising a balun, a receiver amplifier, a power amplifier, and a selector circuit is provided. The balun comprises a center-tapped inductor having a first node, a center-tap switchlessly coupled to a fixed voltage, and a second node. The balun receives a single-ended signal through the first node to produce a differential signal at the first and second nodes. The differential signal is provided to balanced input lines of the receiver amplifier. Balanced output lines of the power amplifier provide a differential signal to the first and second nodes. The balun converts the differential signal to a single-ended signal. The single-ended signal is available at the first node of the center-tapped inductor. The selector circuit activates the receiver amplifier and deactivates the power amplifier, and vice versa. The power amplifier may comprise only a single-ended output line connected to either the first or the second node.

  • Patent number: 8730396
Abstract: A computer implemented method and system for capturing events of interest by performing a spatio-temporal analysis of a video are provided. A continuous video stream containing a series of image frames is acquired over time. Each of the image frames is represented by horizontal spatial coordinates and vertical spatial coordinates of a two dimensional plane. A temporal dimension is assigned across the image frames of the video stream. A spatio-temporal analysis image is constructed based on a user-defined line of analysis on each of one or more of the image frames. The spatio-temporal analysis image is constructed by concatenating a series of temporally-successive linear pixel arrays along the temporal dimension. Each of the linear pixel arrays comprises an array of pixels along the line of analysis defined on each of one or more of the image frames. The constructed spatio-temporal analysis image is segmented for capturing the events of interest.

  • Patent number: 8547185
Abstract: An electronic balun circuit is provided for converting a single-ended signal into a differential signal and vice versa, comprising a center-tapped inductor having a first node, a center-tap coupled to a constant voltage source, and a second node. A first impedance circuit is coupled with the first node and with a line carrying single-ended signal to and from the first node. A second impedance circuit is coupled with the second node. The first node receives the single-ended signal to produce a differential signal at the first and second nodes. The first and second nodes receive the differential signal to produce the single-ended signal at the first node. Both first and second impedance circuits have an impedance of 2RL, resulting in a total effective impedance of Rin for achieving an impedance match between the line and the first node. Furthermore, a passive network is added to balance the balun.

  • Patent number: 8401250
Abstract: A computer implemented method and system for detecting interest sections in a still image are provided. One or more sub images of the still image is subjected to segmentation. A gray scale version of interest sub images and/or a binary image version of the interest sub images are matched with a predefined template for filtering the interest sub images. Multiple prospective image sections comprising one or more of prospective interest sections and prospective near interest sections are determined by performing discriminative feature analyses of the filtered interest sub images using a gabor feature filter. The discriminative feature analyses are processed by a boosted cascade of classifiers. The boosted cascade of classifiers detects the interest sections in the still image from the prospective interest sections and the prospective near interest sections. The detected interest sections are subjected to a support vector machine classifier for further detecting interest sections.

  • Patent number: 8401520
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method and system for establishing a local conferencing session amongst a plurality of Bluetooth enabled terminal units. An audio gateway is provided to interconnect a voice network and the terminal units. A session management entity is provided on the audio gateway and each of the terminal units. A local conferencing session setup is established prior to the conference session wherein a set of common session parameters is shared among the audio gateway and the terminal units through the respective session management entities. The common session parameters enable Bluetooth communication between the audio gateway and the terminal units. The audio gateway broadcasts the voice packets from the voice network to the terminal units. The audio gateway provides microphone holder rights to a terminal unit to transfer voice packets to the voice network. Further, the audio gateway coordinates the transfer of microphone rights between the terminal units.

  • Patent number: 8385824
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system for configuring and setting up a one to one communication correspondence between a headset and a mobile device. The authentication PIN allows communication of the headset with only those devices that are authenticated using the PIN. A first software application and a second software application are provided on the mobile device and a headset respectively. The process of configuring the PIN access information on the headset using the first and second application comprises the step of establishing a secure communication link by completing challenge response sequence between the headset and the device using the currently prevailing PIN, transmitting a configuration set PIN from the device to the headset, enforcing reauthentication using the newly configured PIN, and establishing and locking a communication between the device and the headset based on the new personal identification number.

  • Patent number: 8385689
Abstract: A computer implemented method and system is provided for aligning multiple overlapping images in real time using translation invariant feature matching. A user captures overlapping images comprising a first image and a second image using one or more image capture devices. An image aligning application determines one or more local maxima pixel points and local minima pixel points in the first image and the second image based on predetermined statistical criteria. The image aligning application performs iterative intra image correlation in the first image for selecting a predetermined number of feature points. The image aligning application performs iterative inter image correlation for the selected feature points, for determining a predetermined number of best correlated feature point pairs, and selects a matching feature point pair from the best correlated feature point pairs. The image aligning application aligns the first image and the second image using the selected matching feature point pair.
