  • Patent number: 11025125
Abstract: A concrete vibrator motor includes a motor assembly that provides actuation and a cage assembly that surrounds the motor assembly to shield it and provide one or more operator handles. The motor assembly includes a motor housing, a motor pod, and a plurality of brushes that are used to secure the motor pod within the motor housing. The cage assembly includes a pair of endcaps and handles arranged beneath the endcaps. The endcaps are configured to inhibit fluid ingression into the motor housing while permitting air circulation between the ambient environment outside of the motor housing and within the motor housing. Thus, the motor assembly may intake air into the motor housing and exhaust air therefrom without contamination from the ambient environment.

  • Patent number: 10668640
Abstract: An apparatus for punching holes in posts in a transportation environment where the offset between the holes in the post and a vehicle running surface of a vehicle is constant over a transportation route. The apparatus has a frame and a hole forming assembly separate from one another, such that the hole forming assembly may be adjusted relative to the frame. The hole forming assembly can be adjusted relative to the frame and can be set at a specific offset between a location where the holes are to be formed in a post and the vehicle running surface. Once the offset is set, the apparatus maintains this offset for every post punched along the transportation route, so that there is a constant offset between the holes punched in the posts and the vehicle running surface.

  • Patent number: 10487583
Abstract: A system includes a utility chassis for use with rock drills for automatic and safe drilling of target surfaces. The utility chassis has a lightweight vertical frame member with an overall center of gravity that allows for manual lift handles to be arrayed about the center of gravity for easy loading and unloading onto transportation vehicles without the need for separate heavy machinery. The utility chassis incorporates a spring-centered closed position valve for drill rotation and a three-way spring-centered retract with two open feed positions valve for increased safety. A hinged drill rod guide cap is incorporated into the drill rod guide for quick removal of the chassis from lodged or broken drill rods. The chassis is lighter, more ergonomic, and safer than prior art chasses.

  • Patent number: 9527140
Abstract: Disclosed is an automated drill apparatus composed of one or more gang drills mounted to a gang drill chassis, at least one powered drive wheel affixed to the gang drill chassis, and at least three pivotable support wheels. A control panel provides remote operation of drill rotation activation, drill advance, and drill bed position adjustment, and a panic off switch. A control system implements steering the automated drill apparatus and is selectable by the operator for steering in two-wheel mode or crab steer mode. The pivotable drive wheels, in conjunction with the control panel and control system, are used to position the automated drill apparatus along a slab to be drilled, and further activate one or more gang drills for drilling a slab.

  • Patent number: 6055486
Abstract: A concrete paving system of a variety employing an array of vibrators which consolidate dispersed concrete over a roadbed or the like as the concrete is introduced to the mouth of a slipform pan or mold. The rate of vibration of these vibrators is monitored utilizing an accelerometer in conjunction with a vibration conversion network treating the acceleration signals to derive vibration rate data. The vibration rate data then is used with a monitor and control function employing a user inputted RPM and ground speed based algorithm to derive an RPM error output which is summed with the then existing control current applied to the solenoid function of a proportional control valve to adjust the flow of hydraulic fluid from a constant fluid flow source to a hydraulic motor within a vibrator. A controller with the system provides for the development of upper limit and lower threshold alarm limits which may be displayed along with audible warnings.
