    Abstract: A method and apparatus for electronically treating water flowing through a water distribution system is disclosed which functions to inhibit the formation of scale deposits. The apparatus includes a fluid chamber connected into the water distribution system for isolating a quantity of water and an electrode in contact with the isolated water for imparting an electrical pulse train to the isolated water. The apparatus also includes a signal generation circuit for generating and regulating the pulse train and an error indicating circuit to verify proper operation of the system and to indicate the need for maintenance.
