Abstract: A radio frequency identification (RFID) communication system and method is provided to resolve the power-consuming problems of an active RFID tag while operating at a receiving mode in a long duration. A designated channel is established between the reader and the RFID tag, and also the reader sends a designated message so that the actuated active RFID tag can receive the designated messages and dynamically enter into a receiving mode. Therefore, normal communications may be conducted between the reader and the RFID and the usage period or technical performance can be improved as well.

  • Publication number: 20100079245
Abstract: A radio frequency identification (RFID) reader includes a plurality of signal antennas, which are respectively arranged in directions that are not parallel to and co-linear with each other. Each of the signal antennas has a predetermined antenna field pattern and operates with a predetermined carrier wave frequency. A wireless receiver is connected to the signal antennas. A signal conversion unit is connected to the wireless receiver. A frequency generator generates the carrier wave frequency to the signal antenna. A microprocessor is connected to the signal conversion unit and the frequency generator.

  • Publication number: 20100059213
Abstract: A forming method for a heat dissipating structure is provided. According to the method, an extrudate is formed by extrution molding, wherein the extrudate includes protruding bending portions extending in parallel. Fins are extruded monolithically on the bending portions. One or more cut channels are formed by cutting the fins and the extrudate with a cutting tool. The cutting tool cuts the fins for forming a notch on each fin at first, and then cuts the bending portions for forming a cut-through slot on each bending portion, wherein each cut-through slot is formed for cooling air flowing through two side of the extrudate. By cutting the bending portions and the fins by the cutting tool at the same time, a large number of cut-through slots are formed in despite of the existence of the fins, and the performance of heat dissipation is enhanced.

  • Publication number: 20100054095
Abstract: A power saving method for an optical disk drive of a rugged electronic device is described. In the method, whether a watertight lid outside the optical disk drive is in open/closed state is detected by a sensor. When the watertight lid is in the closed state, whether an optical disk exists in the optical disk drive is detected by a read/write head of the optical disk drive. When no optical disk exists, a controller in the rugged electronic device begins to time. When a predetermined time is reached and no optical disk drive start command is received, the controller turns off an electrical connection between a power supply and the optical disk drive. When an optical disk drive start command is received, the controller enables the electrical connection between the power supply and the optical disk drive.

  • Publication number: 20100014491
Abstract: A method and system is provided to reinforce wireless communication capabilities between multiple network nodes of an wireless network group. The method and system first detects a wireless transmission capability between a first network node and a second network node. When the wireless transmission capability is lower than a threshold value, one set of reinforcing coordinates will be derived by introducing the first geographic information and the second geographic information. Afterwards, move a third network node to a position with the set of reinforcing coordinates to establish an alternative wireless transmission route between the first network note and second network node. Therefore, when an original wireless transmission route between any two network nodes is abnormal, the alternative wireless transmission route will be available in time and reduce the risks of losing transmission signals.

  • Publication number: 20090231772
Abstract: A surge protection device is coupled between a car power source and an output voltage end of a car charger. The surge protection device includes a diode, a current-limiting resistor, and a first transient voltage suppressor (TVS). The diode has an anode coupled to the car power source and a cathode coupled to the car charger. The current-limiting resistor has one end coupled to the anode of the diode. The first TVS is connected to the current-limiting resistor in series, and is connected in parallel with the current-limiting resistor between the car power source and the car charger. A reverse breakdown voltage of the first TVS should be smaller than a reverse breakdown voltage of the diode.
