The active sampler is configured to perform first-selecting, from the subset of the images, a pair of images as matching pair images according to a threshold of similarity values, second-selecting a pair of images from another subset of the images, feeding the matching pair images and the unmatched pair images to the feature generator, updating weighting parameters and increasing the threshold according to preset values an output interface to render the weighting parameters of the feature generator.

The system determines the graph using doubletree construction with an initial tree of nodes originating at the initial node and a target tree of nodes originating at the target node. The doubletree construction is configured to select an expandable node in the initial tree or the target tree based on a cost of the expandable node, and expand the graph by adding a child node connected to the expandable node with an edge defined by a collision free primitive motion, such that a cost of the child node is less than the cost of the expandable node.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are configured for detecting and locating simultaneous faults in a distribution network having primary and secondary buses connected with two-terminal sections. The measured three-phase voltages and currents from the primary buses are received via a communication network, and the series impedances and shunt admittances and the pre-fault connectivity topology are retrieved from the storage. Simultaneous faults are determined to occur by verifying at least one phase of at least three buses having phase current mismatches determined as the differences between the measured values and calculated values using normal topology and phase voltages that are greater than a threshold. A location for each fault is determined individually if the faults are occurring at non-adjacent sections in the distribution network, or jointly if the faults are occurring at adjacent sections in the distribution network.

Form a minimum spanning forest (MSF) to identify a set of micro-grids, each spanning tree in a forest is a self-sustained islanded micro-grid network. Assign a ranking to each inter-bus link within each micro-grid according to constraints, to identify some inter-bus links above a high-ranking threshold to be switched off during a restoration period. Identify switches that restore power to some critical loads of a subset of critical loads with different forest configurations, based on buses that are switched on, to determine a subset of micro-grids less susceptible for link failures during the restoration period. Upon receiving a power disruption, activate the switches to restore some power to the PDG.

A receiver is used to measure amplitudes of the THz waveform reflected from the scale. A memory stores data including predetermined positions of the emitter based on the patterns of the layers from the scale. Wherein one or more processors can determine a position of the emitter from the measurements of the amplitudes received by the receiver, based on the stored data. An output interface can be used to render the position of the emitter.

    Abstract: A wind flow sensing system determines a first approximation of the velocity field at each of the altitudes by simulating computational fluid dynamics (CFD) of the wind flow with operating parameters reducing a cost function of a weighted combination of errors, determines a horizontal derivative of vertical velocity at each of the altitudes from the first approximation of the velocity fields, and determines a second approximation of the velocity fields using geometric relationships between a velocity field for each of the altitudes, projections of the measurements of radial velocities on the three-dimensional axes, and the horizontal derivative of vertical velocity for the corresponding velocity field. In the cost function of the CFD, each error corresponds to one of the altitudes and includes a difference between measured velocities at the line-of-site points at the corresponding altitude and simulated velocities at the line-of-site points simulated by the CFD for the corresponding altitude.
