    Abstract: The present invention concerns a quick setting composition capable of obtaining satisfactory strength developability irrespective of the fluctuation of the ingredients in a metallurgical slag, excellent in the strength developability at cold temperature, easy for coagulation control and inexpensive as well, which contains a cement ingredient comprising portland cement and/or mixed cement, 2 to 50% by weight at the integral ratio of a quick setting agent prepared by adding 3 to 20% by weight of an alkali carbonate at an internal ratio to a mixture comprising 40 to 95% by weight of a finely powdery metallurgical slag and 5 to 60% by weight of II-type anhydrous gypsum, based on the cement ingredient, and 0.1 to 5% by weight of a coagulation controlling agent comprising an organic acid type coagulation retarder and an alkali sulfate and/or calcium salt based on the total weight of the cement ingredient and the quick setting ingredient.

    Abstract: There is provided a method of monitoring a firing condition in a cement kiln, by measuring an intensity of spectrum of a radiation which radiation is emitted from a clinker being fired in a cement kiln, and processing the intensity of the spectrum to produce a parameter for monitoring the condition in the kiln, by correcting the intensity profile of the spectrum by interpolating a profile (range) which is deformed by the absorption with alkali atom(s) in an atmosphere of the kiln. Further, the absorption intensity of the spectrum at a sodium absorption wavelength and potassium absorption wavelength should be continuously measured and corrected by interpolating so as to produce a parameter for monitoring.

    Abstract: A manufacturing method for ceramic-ceramic composite powders including the steps of; forming a suspension by mixing an inorganic powder having a cation-exchange property with a solution containing one or more metal ions to conduct ion exchange with the metal ions on the surface of the inorganic powder; adding to the suspension a precipitant-forming material which releases an anion in a solution when heated or pressurized; heating or pressurizing the suspension to release the anion which reacts with the metal ions to thereby precipitate metal hydroxides, metal basic salts or metallic salts on the surface of the inorganic powder; and thereafter heating the inorganic powder with the resultant precipitates to convert the precipitates into metal oxides. Metal-ceramic composite powders are manufactured by reducing the above metal oxides on the surface of the inorganic powder to metal. In the composite powders any arbitrary amount of metal oxides or metal is supported on the surface of the inorganic powder.

    Abstract: An artifical tooth comprises a contacting member formed of a composite material having compatibility with living tissues and diaposed at an outer portion of the artificial tooth to be contacted with alveolar bone, a metal base member having an opening therein and disposed inside of and attached to the contacting member, a metal post inserted into the opening of the metal base member and at least two elastic buffer members disposed in a space between the metal base member and the metal post. The composite material having compatibility with living tissues contains 40 to 95% by weight of a calcium phosphate compound and 60 to 5% by weight of an organic polymer. Each of the elastic buffer members is spaced apart for movably receiving the metal post by which pressure imposed upon the artificial tooth is transmitted.
