    Abstract: A photoconductive phthalocyanine composition is disclosed, comprising (A) a photoconductive phthalocyanine composition comprising 100 parts by weight of an unsubstituted phthalocyanine derivative and from 0.001 to 5 parts by weight of a nitro- or halogen-substituted phthalocyanine derivative and (B) from 0.01 to 10 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the photoconductive phthalocyanine composition (A), of a phthalocyanine derivative having at least 4 electron attracting groups. A photosensitive layer formed of the photoconductive phthalocyanine composition produces digital signals whether input light is digital or not. It is useful as not only a photoreceptor for digital recording system of electrophotography but a photoreceptor for analogue light input in conventional PPC to provide a high quality image with sharp edges.

    Abstract: A plastic bumper for an automotive vehicle, of the type having so-called floating ribs for the purpose of weight-lightening and preventing surface sinkage due to resin shrinkage. The bumper is formed of a composition comprising (a) propylene-ethylene block copolymer in an amount ranging from 51 to 60 weight %, the block copolymer containing a content soluble in xylene at ordinary temperature, the content ranging from 3 to 8 weight %, and ethylene in an amount ranging from 3 to 8 mol %, the block copolymer having a MFR ranging from 20 to 40 g/10 min; (b) ethylene-propylene based copolymer rubber in an amount ranging from 20 to 30 weight %, the copolymer rubber having a MFR ranging from 0.1 to 2 g/10 min; and (c) talc in an amount ranging from 17 to 25 weight %, said talc having an average particle size ranging from 1.0 to 2.5 .mu.m. Additionally, the composition has (I) a flexural elastic modulus (at 23.degree. C.) not lower than 17000 Kg/cm.sup.2, (II) an Izod impact value (at -30.degree. C.

    Abstract: A hydroxy-substituted poly(phenylene ether) resin can be produced by copolymerizing from 1.5 to 8 mol % of a phenol compound selected from those represented by the following formulae (a), (b), (c), (d), and (e): ##STR1## and from 98.5 to 92 mol % of a phenol compound of the following formula (f): ##STR2## The hydroxy-substituted poly(phenylene ether) resin shows excellent compatibility with a polyamide, a polycarbonate, a poly(butylene terephthalate), a poly(phenylene sulfide), and is useful as a copatibilizer or a modified resin for engineering plastics.
