Abstract: Disclosed herein are a (co)polymer comprising, as an essential component, a (co)polymer containing a recurring unit in a predetermined proportion, and its production process. The recurring unit contains a specific amido group and/or a particular hydroxyl group as a pendant group. This (co)polymer is generally obtained in the form of powder and features extremely easy redispersion, and is useful especially as a cement additive for improving physical properties of cement.
Abstract: A freeze-dried monoclonal antibody preparation is prepared by adding to a solution of the monoclonal antibody gelatin or carboxylic acid or its salt, to prevent denaturation of the monoclonal antibodies during freeze-drying. Freeze-dried monoclonal antibody preparations having stablized antigen-binding activity result and may be used as an adminiculum for immunoauxotherapy for prophylaxis and treatment of bacterial infectious diseases and viral infectious diseases.
Abstract: Provided by the present invention are novel diguanamine derivatives, led by 2,5/2,6-bis(4,6-diamino-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-bicyclo?2.2.l!heptanes and 1,3/1,4-bis(4,6-diamino-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-cyclo-hexanes, and derivatives thereof, applications of these compounds in fields such as adhesives and paints, utilization of these compounds in flame-retarding, thermal stabilization and compatibilization methods of resins, thermosetting molding compositions and thermosetting expansion-molding compositions making use of these compounds, as well as polymeric microspheres also using these compounds. These compounds are expected to find wide spread industrial utility as various excellent properties can be obtained by using them.
Abstract: A novel polythiol having four or more functional groups, a process for producing the polythiol comprising reacting thiourea with a specific compound, a sulfur-containing urethane-based resin prepared from the polythiol and a lens made of the resin. The resin has a high refractive index, and low dispersion of refractive index, is lightweight, colorless and transparent, has no optical distortion, and has excellent characteristics in weatherability, dye-affinity, heat resistance, impact resistance and machinability.

Abstract: Propylene oxide is added to an active hydrogen compound in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide catalyst in an amount of from 0.05 to 0.5 mole per mole of the active hydrogen compound at a reaction temperature of from 60.degree. to 98.degree. C. at a reaction pressure less than or equal to 4 kg/cm.sup.2 to prepare a polyoxyalkylene polyol which has a hydroxyl value of from 10 to 35 mg KOH/g, a monool content less than or equal to 15 mol %, a Head-to-Tail bond selectivity greater than or equal to 96 percent, and low viscosity. A polymer polyol is prepared by polymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the polyoxyalkylene polyol. A flexible polyurethane foam is prepared by reacting the polyoxyalkylene polyol or the polymer polyol with an organic polyisocyanate compound in the presence of a foaming agent, a catalyst, a surfactant, a crosslinking agent and other additives.

Abstract: A is a polyimide based resin molding composition comprising 100 parts by weight of crystalline polyimide having recurring structural units of the formula (1): ##STR1## and 1.about.50 parts by weight of crystallization accelerators selected from bisimide compounds of specific structure, a mixture of bisimide compounds, and imide based oligomer. The composition remarkably accelerates the crystallization velocity of polyimide of the formula (1), crystallization can be completed within a greatly reduced cooling time after melt processing, and the crystallized polyimide resin has excellent properties.
Abstract: A lactic acid polymer composition comprising formulating 100 parts by weight of a mixture consisting of 80-95% by weight of an L-lactic acid polymer having an L-lactic acid proportion of 75% or more and 5-20% by weight of a plasticizer selected from the group consisting of a polyhydric alcohol ester and a hydroxypolycarboxylic acid ester, 0.1-5 parts by weight of an anti-bloking agent having a SiO.sub.2 content of 90% or more and an average particle size of 7-50 nm, and 0.1-2 parts by weight of a slip agent; a molded product and film obtained from the composition; and a preparation process of the same are disclosed. The molded product and film are excellent in processability, transparency, flexibility, anti-blocking property and slip, and can be degraded into harmless water and carbon dioxide under natural environment, when abandoned.
Abstract: A molded article of a syndiotactic polypropylene having excellent transparency in which a melting point attributed to the polypropylene having the syndiotactic structure measured at a heating rate of 10.degree. C./minute by differential scanning thermal analysis is represented by a substantially single peak, the aforesaid molded article being prepared by heating, melting and then hot-molding a homopolymer of propylene or a copolymer of propylene and a small amount of another olefin, which have a substantially syndiotactic structure, or a mixture of the homopolymer or the copolymer and a small amount of a polypropylene having a substantially isotactic structure, followed by quenching, or, after these steps, additionally subjecting the above molded article to a heat treatment at a temperature of less than its melting point. A method for preparing the above molded article is also disclosed here.
Abstract: A human growth hormone can be purified by allowing a solution containing the human growth hormone to contact with a blue pigment-bonded carrier in order to selectively adsorb the human growth hormone, then eluting the human growth hormone with an eluant of high ionic strength or an eluant containing a protein denaturing agent. This method readily enables the mass production of a highly purified human growth hormone.

Abstract: S-phenyl-L-cysteine can be produced in a high yield by reacting thiophenol and L-serine under the action of tryptophan synthase at a pH in a range of from 9.0 to 10.5. Purification of S-phenyl-L-cysteine obtained by this enzyme reaction can be effectively achieved by adjusting the pH of a crystal-containing reaction mixture to a strongly acidic level of 1.5 or lower to dissolve crystals of S-phenyl-L-cysteine, adding activated carbon to the pH-adjusted mixture, maintaining the resultant mixture at a temperature of from 20.degree. to 60.degree. C. under aeration with an oxygen-containing gas, subjecting the thus-obtained mixture to filtration, raising the pH of the resulting filtrate back to a range of from 2.5 to 6.0 to precipitate crystals of S-phenyl-L-cysteine and then recovering the thus-precipitated crystals.
Abstract: A composition for optical materials is herein disclosed which comprises the following two components (a) and (b):(a) a component containing at least one of poly isocyanates represented by the formula (1) ##STR1## wherein A is an alkanediyl group or an alkanetetrayl group which may contain a sulfur atom, or a dithianetetrayl group, and the alkanediyl group or the alkanetetrayl group may be substituted by a phenyl group; B is a methylene chain represented by .paren open-st.CH.sub.2 .paren close-st..sub.m (m is an integer of 1 to 4) which may contain a sulfur atom, and B's may be the same or different; and n is an integer of 2 or 4, and(b) a component containing at least one of polythiols having two or more mercapto groups. The composition is useful to provide optical products such as plastic lenses, filters, substrates for recording media and optical fibers which have a very high refractive index and which are excellent in heat resistance.

The above phthalocyanins can be used to provide optical recording medium.
