Abstract: The invention provides a plant disease control composition including active ingredients of (RS)-N-[2-(1,3-dimethylbutyl)thiophene-3-yl]-1-methyl-3-trifluoromethyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxamide (common name: penthiopyrad) and at least one fungicidal compound other than penthiopyrad, and a plant disease prevention method wherein such a compound is applied to plant seeds or soil. According to the invention, a composition and a prevention method are provided which demonstrate a prevention effect against plural types of disease pathogenic microbes, and also demonstrate a preventing effect to currently emerging resistant pathogenic microbes, when applied to plant seed or soil.

Abstract: A ship that reduces the total amount of fossil fuels and other energy sources required, thereby saving energy. The ship (1) has a plurality of subsystems (10) constructed by dividing a network of power supply lines (3) and signal lines (4) into groups. The subsystems (10) consist of at least two subsystems among a bridge subsystem (10a) on the bridge; a propulsion subsystem (10b) in an engine room; a deck subsystem (10c) installed on a deck; a ballast cargo subsystem (10d) for ballasting and equipment installed in a hold; and an information processing subsystem (10e) corresponding to communication equipment. The subsystems (10) each have a storage battery (5) and a smart meter (6), each of which is linked to a microgrid monitoring and control system (2), which detects the amount of electric power consumed by the subsystems (10), and controls the transfer of electric power between the subsystems.
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a modified propylene resin containing very small amounts of low-crystalline and low-molecular-weight components. The present invention relates to a modified propylene resin characterized by satisfying the following requirements (1) to (4). (1) The melting point (Tm) measured with a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) is 140° C. or higher. (2) The amount of grafts of ethylenic unsaturated bond-containing monomer after hot xylene washing is 0.1 to 5 percent by weight. (3) The amount of components soluble in o-dichlorobenzene at 70° C. is 1.5 percent by weight or less. (4) The intrinsic viscosity [?] is 0.1 to 4 dl/g.

Abstract: Ethylene is oligomerized with a catalyst in which nickel is supported on a support containing silica and alumina. The catalyst has little deterioration over long periods and affords oligomers with high productivity. The ethylene oligomerization catalyst includes a support and a nickel compound supported on the support, the support including silica and alumina, and the amount of nickel supported is in the range of 0.0001 to 1 wt % based on the weight of the support, and the molar ratio of silica to alumina in the support (SiO2/Al2O3) is in the range of 100 to 2000. In a process of the invention, ethylene is oligomerized with use of the catalyst.
Abstract: The present invention provides is a method for producing 3-mercaptopropionic acid from 3-mercaptopropionamide or a salt thereof with the use of an amidase. The method enables the production of 3-mercaptopropionic acid on an industrial scale through an enzymatic reaction.

Abstract: The present invention provides a process for producing an ?-olefin polymer comprising polymerizing or copolymerizing (a) C3 or higher ?-olefin(s) in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst comprising solid titanium catalyst component (I) containing titanium, magnesium, halogen, and a compound with a specific structure having two or more ether linkages and organometallic catalyst component (II) with high catalytic activity. In this process, particularly even in (co)polymerizing (a) higher olefin(s), demineralization is unnecessary. A 4-methyl-1-pentene-based polymer obtained by polymerization using the catalyst of the present invention is excellent in tacticity, transparency, heat resistance, and releasability, and the polymer is particularly suitable for a release film.

Abstract: Provided is a new method for producing a positive electrode active material for lithium secondary batteries, by which even in the case of washing a spinel type lithium transition metal oxide with water or the like, the service life characteristics can be further enhanced, and the concentration of magnetic substances can be effectively reduced. Suggested is a method for producing a positive electrode active material for lithium secondary batteries, the method including a water washing step of bringing a powder of a spinel type lithium transition metal oxide into contact with a polar solvent and thereby washing the powder; and a drying step of subsequently drying the powder by heating the powder to 300° C. to 700° C. in an atmosphere containing oxygen.
