Abstract: The present invention provides a ballast water treatment system including a reaction tank in which raw water and ozone are imported and made to react each other for a predetermined period of time to kill microorganisms existing in raw water, an ozone decomposer in which water containing residual ozone discharged from the reaction tank is imported and the residual ozone is decomposed, and a circulation pump installed between the reaction tank and ozone decomposer, forming a circulation system which removes the residual ozone by means of circulating the water containing the residual ozone between the reaction tank and ozone decomposer. Accordingly, this system dispenses with a deaeration tank which would require a wide space for installation, small cost and is able to be applied to existing ships easily.

Abstract: The invention provides a composition for sealing a semiconductor, the composition being able to form a thin resin layer, suppress the diffusion of a metal component to a porous interlayer dielectric layer, and exhibit superior adherence with respect to an interconnection material. The composition for sealing a semiconductor contains a resin having two or more cationic functional groups and a weight-average molecular weight of from 2,000 to 100,000; contains sodium and potassium each in an amount based on element content of not more than 10 ppb by weight; and has a volume average particle diameter, measured by a dynamic light scattering method, of not more than 10 nm.
Abstract: A process for producing pentaerythritol mercaptocarboxylic ester by reacting pentaerythritol with a mercaptocarboxylic acid having a content of thioester formed by condensation of two molecules of the acid of 5% or below (in terms of area percentage) as determined by the high-performance liquid chromatography in the case of the total area of the mercaptocarboxylic acid and thioester formed by intermolecular condensation of the acid is taken as 100%.
Abstract: A pair of restraining plates are pivotally installed in a housing of a lock unit. The restraining plates have respective cam portions that are arranged to put therebetween a striker when the restraining plates are pivoted in respective given directions. A biasing member is arranged to bias one of the restraining plates to pivot in the given direction thereof, and a transmission mechanism is arranged between the restraining plates to induce a synchronized pivoting of the two restraining plates. Thus, when one of the restraining plates is pivoted in the given direction thereof, the other of the restraining plates is pivoted in the given direction thereof. With this arrangement, once the striker is locked by the lock unit, at least one of the cam portions of the restraining plates is pressed against the striker thereby to suppress or at least minimize undesirable play of the lock unit relative to the striker.
Abstract: A positive electrode active material for a lithium battery is provided which offers high-temperature storage property and battery properties and comprises manganese dioxide having a crystal structure that exhibits an X-ray diffraction pattern in which peaks having a peak intensity ratio of not less than 0.05 with respect to the peak at 2?=37.3°±0.5° are present at positions of 2?=18.2°±0.5°, 19.5°±0.5°, 28.6°±0.5°, 56.6°±0.5°, 59.1°±0.5°, and 65.1°±0.5°, or further at 2?=22.0°±1.0°, the X-ray diffraction pattern being obtained using a powder X-ray diffraction device (XRD) that uses CuK?1 rays.

Abstract: A latch is disposed turnably on a side door and becomes in a state of engaging with a striker disposed on a vehicle body. Abstract: A novel olefin production process of the invention can be established as an industrial and practical process of producing an olefin with high selectivity by directly reacting a ketone and hydrogen in a single reaction step. In particular, a novel olefin production process is provided in which propylene is obtained with high selectivity by directly reacting acetone and hydrogen. An olefin production process of the invention includes reacting a ketone and hydrogen at a reaction temperature in the range of 50 to 300° C. in the presence of a Cu-containing hydrogenation catalyst and a solid acid substance.
Abstract: Disclosed is an internal mold release agent for the production of polythiourethane optical materials, which is obtained by mixing an acidic phosphate ester compound and at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Zn, Cu, Fe, Ga, Bi, Al and Zr. The internal mold release agent for the production of polythiourethane optical materials contains the metal in an amount of 0.01 to 20 weight %.
Abstract: An object is to provide a rotor manufacturing method capable of reducing a rotor unbalance amount by controlling a magnet arrangement position in a rotor core and improving work efficiency when fixing a magnet to the rotor core by using resin. A lower surface of a rotor core is arranged in a lower mold. A magnet is arranged in a lower mold. A magnet is contained in each of magnet containing holes formed in the rotor core in such a manner that a predetermined space is assumed between an upper surface of the rotor core and an upper surface of the magnet. An upper mold is arranged on the upper surface of the rotor core. The upper mold and the lower mold apply a pressure to the rotor core and a molten resin is supplied with pressure from an internal diameter side via the predetermined space into the plurality of magnet containing holes from respective cylinder arranged in the upper mold. Thus, the magnets are molded by resin while pressing the magnets toward the outer diameter side of the magnet containing holes.

Abstract: Disclosed is a gene carrier composed of a hydrogen-bonding polymer having a polymer chain with hydrogen-bonding sites formed on the polymer chain, in which the polymer chain has a conformation similar to the conformation of a nucleic acid, and particularly, the polymer chain has helix parameters similar to the helix parameters of a nucleic acid of a helix structure. In a preferred embodiment, the hydrogen-bonding polymer is composed of ?-1,3-glucan such as schizophyllan. The carrier can be expected to be applied as a vector and a separator for nucleic acids because it is capable of interacting with a nucleic acid to form a complex with the nucleic acid and thus carrying the nucleic acid.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for producing a resin film or a resin sheet comprising a step of cleaning resin pellets and a step of forming the resin film or the resin sheet by using the cleaned resin pellets.
