Abstract: Mutually engaging interlocking elements disposed on abutting left and right bottom walls of a shield case interlock to resist metal spring back. The shield cases are formed by bending sheet metal into rectangular shaped columns. The shield cases surround the plug and socket in a miniature electrical connector. The socket has fixing wings and fixing legs which are soldered to a printed circuit board. The plug is removably inserted within the socket.

Abstract: An insulative housing has grooves disposed on an upper surface. The lower surface is closed to protect the electrical connectors from solder flux when soldering the housing to a printed circuit substrate. The enclosed electrical connectors make electrical contact with the corresponding connectors in an insertable plug. The grooves are open along a top surface and allow the enclosed electrical connectors to connect with the corresponding connectors disposed on a bottom surface of the insertable plug. The insulative housing is disposed within a socket that is soldered to a printed circuit substrate. The insertable plug, insulative housing and socket together comprise a miniature connector.

Abstract: A “small” or “miniature connector comprises: a connector socket 2, having a shield case 4, which is a metal plate bent and formed into a rectangular tube, and an insulating housing 6, which supports a plurality of contact pins 5 and is built into the interior of shield case 4; a connector plug 3, having a plug part 3a which is inserted into an insertion opening 11 of connector socket 2; a contact member 26, which has a shallow “V” shaped cross-section and is flexible, being formed by cutting out and offsetting on a top wall of shield case 4; and a protrusion 27 of inverted “V” shape, which engages with contact member 26, being placed on an upper surface of plug part 3a.
