Abstract: A tandem master cylinder having a small-diameter cylinder formed on the same axis as a cylinder bore in a floating piston, communicating with a primary fluid pressure chamber and a secondary fluid pressure chamber. A small-diameter piston is movably inserted in the small-diameter cylinder, dividing the primary fluid pressure chamber from the secondary fluid pressure chamber. A small-diameter piston spring is mounted in the small-diameter cylinder, pressing the small-diameter piston toward the secondary fluid pressure chamber. A stop is provided in the small-diameter cylinder to stop the forward movement of the small-diameter piston in the small-diameter cylinder. An elastic member is disposed in an unbiased state between the small-diameter piston and a cylinder front end wall. The elastic member has an elastic force in a direction of compression which is greater than that of the small-diameter piston spring.
Abstract: A control valve assembly for a total pressure hydraulic brake is provided with an input port, and output port, a remote control input port connected to a hydraulic fluid supply, a first response which is moved together with depression of a brake pedal, a second response which is moved by the hydraulic fluid flowing through the remote control input port, and a control valve which operates in accordance with the movement of either the first or the second response. The control valve supplies the hydraulic fluid from the input port to the output port in response to the hydraulic fluid flowing through the remote control input port, as well as the depressing force exerted on the brake pedal.
Abstract: A tandem liquid pressure control device for an anti-lock brake system includes a tandem liquid pressure control cylinder disposed between a tandem master cylinder and the vehicle brakes, and a mechanism for driving the liquid pressure control means for movement in a direction causing a reduction or elevation in braking liquid pressure for an anti-lock operation. The liquid pressure control cylinder contains a first liquid pressure control piston adapted to be driven by the driving mechanism for movement in the direction causing pressure reduction or elevation and a second liquid pressure control piston mounted coaxially with the first piston and movably in a floating way, and defines a first and a second liquid pressure control chambers in which the pressures of the braking liquid are controlled by the movement of the first and second pistons.
