  • Patent number: 11876329
Abstract: A battery pack for electrically coupling with and securing to a portable electronic device having a device connector and one or more user interface components includes an electronics section and a latch section. The electronics section includes a battery compartment configured to hold one or more batteries and a connector mechanism configured to interconnect with and form a waterproof seal around the device connector. The latch section is pivotably coupled to the base portion and configured to pivot relative to the base portion to transition the battery pack between open and closed states. In the open state, the electronics section and the latch section form an open frame structure configured to enable installation of the portable electronic device in the battery pack. In the closed state, the electronics section and the latch section form a closed frame structure configured to secure the portable electronic device within an opening defined by the closed frame structure.

  • Patent number: 9780417
Abstract: A system and method for increasing the operating time of electronic devices, such as a point of view camera, are provided. The system includes a connector block sized to be received within a battery chamber of an electronic device. A battery pack is then attached to the connector block for providing power to the electronic device. The battery pack includes an outer battery housing, one or more batteries and an inner battery housing. The outer battery housing includes a cavity adapted to receive the one or more batteries. The opening of the cavity is sized to receive the inner battery housing and retain the inner battery housing with a friction fit, thereby retaining the outer battery housing and the inner battery housing together. When the battery pack is attached to a front housing portion of an electronic device housing, power is provided to the electronic device via the connector block.

  • Patent number: 9640908
Abstract: An alignment apparatus is coupled to an accessory module that is rotatably attachable to an electronic device. The alignment apparatus includes a pivot mounting member and a connector retaining member movably coupled to the pivot mounting member. The connector retaining member is rigidly coupled to a connector. The connector retaining member moves the connector with respect to the pivot mounting member to a predetermined angle. The predetermined angle aligns the connector with a connecting mate on the electronic device in an approximately parallel position while the accessory module is rotating for attachment onto the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 9472913
Abstract: A power adapter includes a power plug and a connector port. A cable retention structure is coupled to the power adapter to move between an open position and a closed position. In an open position, a cable grip of the cable retention structure is configured to hold a power cable, e.g. when the power cable is coupled to the connector port. The cable grip cable holds the power cable to help resist disconnection of the power cable from the connector port. In a closed position, the cable retention structure moves to fold over a side of the power adapter. The cable grip of the cable retention structure fits into a cable grip well in the side of the power adapter and is frictionally held within the cable grip well to secure the cable retention structure in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 8513914
Abstract: A battery charger includes a housing defining a battery receptacle area configured to receive a battery therein, a piston, a moveable platform, wherein the piston and the platform are simultaneously urged in substantially orthogonal directions toward the battery receptacle area, and prongs configured to extend from the housing and electrically connect a power source to the battery when the battery is received in the battery receptacle area and engaged by the piston and moveable platform. A method for charging a battery includes connecting a pair of prongs of a battery charger to a power source and placing a battery into a battery receptacle area of the battery charger, wherein the battery is simultaneously maintained in a vertical charging position and a horizontal charging position. A method of manufacturing a battery charger assembly includes providing a housing and providing a piston and a moveable platform internal to the housing.
