Abstract: A method for use by an employer in establishing a plan to enable an employee to self-manage the employee's relocation includes approving service providers for each service to be rendered in the employee's relocation, and then establishing an overall budget to complete the relocation based upon cost estimates from the third party relocation company proprietary database. The employer then grants the employee permission to use the budget and service providers so the employee may thereby self-manage the employee's relocation.

Abstract: The interconnection system comprises at least one preferably mobile communication device which can be connected to a remote data system by a communication channel enabling firewalls to be by-passed. The communication device comprises means for emitting presence signals. A service component of the communication device establishes a communication channel to a remote service agent of the remote data system, that is assigned thereto. The service component of the communication device indicates its presence at regular intervals by notification signals to the remote service agent in order to keep the communication channel active. The period of the notification signals is defined by the remote service agent at least once after the channel has been established. The remote service agent can then send messages in real time to the service component.

Abstract: A shipping box system includes a plurality of walls defining a volume substantially in the form of a cuboid, a rigid base near a first wall of the plurality of walls adapted to resist motion relative to the first wall, and a rigid mount attached to the rigid base and adapted to connect with a shipped item to be placed in the volume, wherein the plurality of walls are configured to create a free space around the shipped item so as to prevent damaging contact with a substantial portion of the shipped item.

Abstract: A system and method for selecting freight forwarding companies is provided wherein bids for shipping lanes and the like are received well in advance of a freight move. Bids are submitted on shipping lanes and other move associated transactions by pre-approved freight forwarding companies. This information is stored in a database. Selection of the freight forwarding company or companies occurs in connection with evaluating the bid information submitted and historical data stored on the database.

Abstract: A tamper resistant latch comprising a movable member having a latch engaging arm extending therefrom, and a keeper plate capable of releasably receiving the latch arm. The latch may be used to prevent unauthorized entry into enclosures such as cabinets. The invention is best suited for, but by no means limited to, use with cabinets having glass panel doors. When the latch is engaged the glass doors are secured in the closed position.
