    Abstract: A modular Intraosseous Infusion training adjunct that attaches to a medical training device, such as a MITS™ Platform, where the training device has an orifice therein. The adjunct has a body with a substantially rigid insertion training area that replicates human bone tissue. The adjunct releasably attaches to the medical training device in such a way that the insertion training area is positioned over the medical device orifice when said adjunct is attached to the training device.

The adjunct includes a base that releasably attaches to the medical training device, and a simulated nasal anterior aspect affixed to the base. Two nasal orifices extend into an inner chamber of the aspect. The inner chamber opens into an orifice in the base. The base orifice aligns with the medical training device orifice when the base is properly attached to the medical training device, so as to enable Nasopharyngeal Airway Insertion training there through.

The openings align with the medical training device orifice when the base is properly attached to the medical training device to enable Cricothyrotomy training there through. A simulated skin and/or a simulated cricoid membrane may be positioned over the opening.

The connectors positionally match and mate with the fastening structures on the training device to secure the skin patch to the training device over the training region.

    Abstract: A self-contained medical needle decompression training apparatus is provided. In various embodiments, the system includes a hollow body having at least one sidewall, a closed end, an opposing open end and an interior chamber. The apparatus additionally includes a closure device structured and operable to mate with the open end to close the interior chamber and an orifice on the sidewall of the apparatus that is configured to snugly receive a decompression needle. The orifice may include pads or plugs of pliant material to simulate human flesh, simulated ribs on each side of the orifice, and a bladder in the chamber to simulate air pockets in a human body, such as for example a lung. The interior chamber provides a storage space for medical devices to be used in association with the training system, such as for example medical decompression syringes, needles, flesh pads and replaceable bladders.
