Patent number: 5500132Abstract: Disclosed is a liquid to liquid coalescing separator (10) in which the liquid flows through sides of upright perforated tubes (20). One of the liquids coalesces on the inner walls of the tubes until large enough to break away and flow out of internal passages in the tubes, and the other liquid free of coalesced liquid flows through the tubes and to an outlet (22).Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 1995Date of Patent: March 19, 1996Assignee: Modern Welding Company, Inc.Inventor: Hadi Elmi

Patent number: 5423448Abstract: A cylindrical trash container is configured for lifting and emptying by a conventional trash removal vehicle having a lift assembly. The container has lifting sleeves and bumpers for guiding lift forks into the sleeves and for holding the container body away from the lifting assembly preventing damage to the container. The container uses multiple interchangeable lid portions for ease of access to the container opening and for ease of replacement lid portions. Contoured rib sections are provided on the lid for strength and convenience in storage and shipping. The container is dimensioned for fabricating efficient containment capacity while maintaining attention to human factors. A reinforced flanged bottom section provides efficient replacement.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 1993Date of Patent: June 13, 1995Assignee: Modern Welding Company, Inc.Inventor: Larry E. Pedigo

Patent number: 5387286Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for safely rotating large for apply flammable tank coating materials in a spark free environment. The tank is continuously rotated for drying while being relocated to a drying position permitting another tank to be brought to a position for the tank coating process. A hydraulic motor assembly is used to drive the apparatus in its rotational and relocation modes. A hose festooning array permits the continuous rotation and relocation of the rotating tanks while maintaining the safe environment. The hose festooning array provides automatic storage and distribution of the hose between the motor assembly and the remotely positioned pump. A chain driven by another hydraulic motor provides the driving force to reposition the tanks using a track system.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 1993Date of Patent: February 7, 1995Assignee: Modern Welding Company, Inc.Inventor: Arlington D. Patent number: 5362407Abstract: Disclosed is a circular gravity clarifier for and method of clarifying liquids of entrained liquid droplets and solids. The clarifier has an upright cylindrical body, a cylindrical baffle extending substantially the depth of the body forming an annular flow path, a rotating stilling well in which the liquid to be clarified is introduced and flows downwardly in a generally cone shaped pattern, the liquid droplets rising to the surface where they are removed, and the clarified liquid flows upwardly in the annular flow path and is discharged. A number of features of the clarifier and the method is disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1993Date of Patent: November 8, 1994Assignee: Modern Welding Company, Inc.Inventor: Hadi Elmi

Patent number: 5174682Abstract: An overcast serving utility in the ventilation of tunnelways in an underground mine defined by an erected frame, typically made from steel, and including pivoting clips and splice strips for ready assembly and, as well, the absence of comingling of uncontaminated and contaminated air. The invention simplifies the approach for passing new air into the mining area and permitting contaminated air flowing through lateral tunnelways to pass over the overpass.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 1991Date of Patent: December 29, 1992Assignee: Modern Welding Company, Inc.Inventor: Ronald D. Patent number: 4768272Abstract: An arrangement for assembling a metal storage tank which includes a framework having a stationary end frame portion and a carriage selectively movable toward and away from the end frame portion on rails disposed on the framework. Cylindrical tank sections, positioned on roller members mounted between the rails, are urged into a successive abutting arrangement by movement of the carriage toward the stationary end frame portion and, subsequently, rotated for on-site seam welding, i.e. one cylindrical tank section to another. The end frame portion and the carriage both include freely rotatable roller members disposed normally with respect to each other, in a vertical plane, to reduce drag upon cylindrical tank section rotation.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1987Date of Patent: September 6, 1988Assignee: Modern Welding Company, Inc.Inventors: Morris L.
