  • Patent number: 5519586
Abstract: A fuse holder assembly (100) has a pair of fuse clips (23) which provide electrical connection between a fuse (22) and a circuit in a printed circuit board (15). The fuse holder assembly (100) securely holds a fuse (22) adjacent to an edge of the printed circuit board and in spaced relation to the printed circuit board (15) for easy access to the fuse and for maximizing the area on the printed circuit board available for circuit components or edge connector contacts. Each fuse clip (23) has a mounting base (25) for mounting to the printed circuit board and for providing electrical connection with the circuit on the printed circuit board, and a retention clip (33) attached to the mounting base. A support (55,58) supports the retention clip and provides access (53,70) to the retention clip for installation and removal of a fuse within the retention clip.

  • Patent number: 5517487
Abstract: The data communication capacity of an existing local area network (LAN) 10 that uses a shielded twisted wire pair 16 as its transmission medium may be increased with the addition of special frequency selective terminators 36 and single-ended transceivers 20. The single-ended transceivers 20 have two single-ended transmitter connections 42,44 to the two twisted wires 22,24 in the shielded twisted wire pair medium 16, respectively, and one single-ended receiver connection 46 to one of the two twisted wires 22,24 in the shielded twisted wire pair medium 16. The shielded twisted wire pair medium 16 is terminated by the special frequency selective terminators 36 which provide transmission line impedance matching over the signal bandwidth of a single-ended data channel, while providing a high impedance over the signal bandwidth of a differential data channel.

  • Patent number: 5398025
Abstract: An improved input module is able to sense the ON and OFF states associated with an external signal, wherein that signal complies with standards denoting the ON and OFF condition thereof. The improved input module includes a fixed impedance and a parameter sensor, such as a voltage sensor, which senses at least a portion of the voltage drop across the impedance. In addition, the module includes a current limiter in series with the impedance so as to limit the current flow through the impedance when the threshold parameter has been exceeded. An additional embodiment of the input module includes a second current limiter which is able to selectively detect broken wires associated with the connection of the external signal to the input module.

  • Patent number: 5302136
Abstract: An apparatus (10) for positively preventing misengagement of multipoint connector elements includes a mounting rack (26) having a pivot slot (18) and a stepped guide surface (32), along with an associated receptacle element (34) of a multipoint connector. The apparatus (10) also includes a housing (44) having a pivot pin (20) and a stepped guide surface (50), along with an associated plug element (54) of multipoint connector. Only when the pivot pin (20) is fully seated in the pivot slot (18) will the receptacle (34) and plug (54) elements be able to engage. Otherwise, the stepped guide surfaces (32, 50) act to positively prevent such engagement. Also, the stepped guide surfaces (32, 50) are concentrically mated to provide angular engagement and disengagement paths that result in a plurality of plug pin contacts (68) and receptacle socket contacts (70) engaging and disengaging in a sequential order, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4910416
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved device for minimizing the time delays associated with turning on and off the power switches or power transistors in a standard totem pole configuration. An improved saturation detector monitors each transistor to determine when it is in saturation and generates a feedback signal which is combined with the input signal to generate the appropriate time delay needed to improve the switching time of the transistor.
