Abstract: A lifting and lowering device for attachment to the corner of an ISO goods container, comprising twist-lock devices carried at one side of a post and a sleeve which is slidable on and lockable to the post allowing adjustment of the spacing of the twist-lock devices, an extendable leg with its operating ram housed within the post, and projecting from the opposite side of the post from the twist-lock devices fixed legs or the like give to the device free-standing stability when the leg is fully retracted into the post.
Abstract: Handling devices for use in containerized transport systems are adapted for temporary but rigid attachment to the ends of a container. Each device comprises a frame provided with (a) locking devices to engage the standard ISO castings or like fittings of the container, (b) power-operable extending legs with feet, which legs can be extended into ground contact and lift the container to permit loading on to a vehicle or off-loading, and (c) sockets for engagement by the prongs of a fork-lift machine to facilitate handling of the device when being fitted to or removed from the container.

Abstract: For facilitating the picking up and setting down of a container in a containerised goods transport system, there is provided at each corner of the container a lifting arrangement comprising a retractable leg housed with an operating ram in a post which is mounted by hinges on a corner frame member to swing about a vertical axis between a position laterally outboard of the container to allow the leg to be extended, and a stowed position in which the post with leg retracted is housed in a recess in a corner frame member so occupying otherwise non-used space.
