    Abstract: A method for machining bodies of revolution with the use of a rotary cutting tool, characterized in that the angle of the cutting edge of the tool and the distance between the tool's axis of rotation and the base plane are selected so that the difference between the distances from the cutting edge points to the axis of the machine tool centers is equal to or greater than the amount of elastic deformation of the material being machined. The cutting edge points are found in a plane extending through the machine tool centers axis and the tool nose, on the opposite sides of the axis of rotation of the tool.
