Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the stacking and/or palleting of, in particular, thin products of a printing press operation, which is characterized by a gathering and depositing station rotatable about a vertical axis. The invention relates, further, to a process, preferably with use of the device, in which the products, for the formation of a preliminary stack, are rotated about an axis perpendicular to the plane of the products and thereupon gathered lying one upon another into the stack, which stack is transferred into a depositing shaft arranged vertically under the stack, turned back about this axis through at least the previous rotation, or through 90.degree., 180.degree., 270.degree. plus or minus the preliminary rotation and then deposited.
Abstract: A device for the palleting of slab-form products, especially of book blocks or books, being provided with a feed arrangement for the products, an arrangement for the formation of a product row, and an arrangement for the reception of a product layer including several product rows, the reception arrangement including a simple single rolling band, and in particular, a double rolling band with an endlessly guided upper band and an endlessly guided lower band arranged directly under the upper band, and a drive member for advancing and retracting the rolling band. The upper and lower bands are driven oppositely in the retraction, in such a manner that the upper band portion of the upper band and the lower band portion of the lower band are rolled off the product layer and pallet, respectively. The upper band and the lower band stand still relatively to each other in the advancing of the double rolling band.
Abstract: The invention relates to a book, comprising a book cover blank and an inner book having a spine. The book cover blank is preferably formed in one piece, includes two inner cover portions, two outer cover portions, at least one spine member, and a spine portion. The inner cover portions are glued to the outer cover portions. At least one spine member is arranged on the inside over the spine portion without any bond thereto. The spine member is connected in one piece with the cover blank and is attached to the spine of the inner book.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of stacking rectangular products, particularly printed matter such as books, book blocks or magazines and the like, whereby the products are stacked against a stop to form a row of packed material on a moving conveyor belt, the row of packed material subsequently is pushed laterally by a slider onto a horizontal intermediate plate, which is arranged immediately below the upper span and can reciprocate between the upper and lower spans, the intermediate plate is retracted and the row of packed material is thereby swept off by the stationary slider.
