  • Patent number: 4290711
Abstract: A construction for locking the hub of a gear or other means to a shaft. The shaft is cylindrical but is cut away to form a flat surface parallel to the axis of the hub. A wedge has a portion which fills the cavity between the cylindrical inside surface of the hub and the flat surface on the shaft. An integral lug portion of the wedge extends radially outwardly into a slot in the hub so as to prevent the hub from turning with respect to the wedge. The wedge is prevented from turning with respect to the shaft by its flat bottom surface which is coextensive with the flat surface on the shaft. That provides a driving relationship between the hub and the shaft. The driving relationship between the wedge and the hub is through side surfaces of the cavity in the hub and the lug portion of the wedge.

  • Patent number: 4181550
Abstract: A new product in the form of high tensile strength belting, and the method of making the same. The product is high tensile strength oriented nylon bonded to a layer of rubber on one or both faces. A sheet of nylon film is bonded to one face of a sheet of rubber, and the layer of nylon film on the sheet of rubber is then bonded to a sheet of oriented nylon with an adhesive which bonds the two nylon surfaces together.

  • Patent number: 3973064
Abstract: A joint construction formed by sonically welding the edges of sheets of oriented nylon. The coextensive edge portions of the nylon sheets are formed with generally complementary surfaces which are at an acute angle to the flat surfaces. A plurality of ridge portions extend from the complementary surfaces substantially parallel to the adjacent edges and concentrate sonic energy introduced into the joint at the interface of the complementary surfaces to form a weld joining the sheets, with the thickness of the completed joint being substantially the same thickness as an individual sheet.

  • Patent number: 3939023
Abstract: A method of fabricating a brassiere pad which involves folding a fiberfill blank longitudinally, making an oblique cut at right angles to the fold through one thickness of the blank, folding the blank so as to expose surfaces which are to be bonded, refolding to abut the surfaces to be bonded and molding the resulting form to the desired pad contour. Means for controlling the thickness of the under portion of the pad to provide desired push up action is disclosed.
