Abstract: A door handle component made of a thermoplastic material and a method of maintaining parallelism of the pair of arms forming a part of the component during the manufacture thereof by having the two arms rigidly interconnected by a cross member which is integrally formed with the arms.
Abstract: A degas tank for the cooling system of an internal combustion engine wherein the degas tank is formed from two plastic parts each of which has a plurality of cavities formed therein that are defined by ribs and in which certain of the ribs are provided with open-ended slots so when the two parts of the degas tank are joined together, pairs of open-ended slots cooperate to form an opening through which coolant can flow between adjacent cavities.
Abstract: The invention generally relates to a cover assembly adapted to enclose a vehicle side panel opening to provide access to a gas tank filler tube and specifically relates to devices for adjusting a cover both laterally relative to the opening and so as to be flush with the side panel.
Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel filler pocket adapted to be inserted within a vehicle side panel opening in a way to surround and support a fuel tank inlet tube and wherein the pocket includes integral resilient tangs for locking the pocket within the panel opening.
Abstract: A cowl grill to window seal assembly of the type wherein the grill includes an edge disposed proximate a windshield, a flexible seal being adapted to snap over and be retained on said edge and which seal includes a protecting lip adapted to flexibly bias against and span the gap between the grill and windshield.
Abstract: A window actuating door handle of the type including a knob rotatably mounted on an elongated handle member and wherein the handle member includes a plurality of cylindrically disposed tangs adapted to resiliently engage a corresponding internal cylindrical surface of the knob to support the knob in a non-rattling and rotatable manner upon the elongated handle member.
Abstract: An injection molding assembly for molding plastic parts in mold cavities defined by separable mold parts attached to stationary and movable platens of the assembly. A plastic locating ring is attached to one of the mold parts and is disposed in an opening in the stationary platen for positioning the mold parts relative to the stationary platen and an injection nozzle assembly disposed in the opening of the stationary platen. The locating ring has an outer peripheral surface including a tapered portion and an adjacent axially extending portion whereby the tapered portion guides or leads the axially extending portion into the opening in the stationary platen. The locating ring is defined by inner and outer annular walls integrally interconnected by a base wall and radially extending ribs. The inner wall defines an inclined surface in a central opening for facilitating molten plastic run-off.
