  • Patent number: 6689401
Abstract: A method of brewing a malt beverage having a low alcohol content is disclosed. A malt and cereal infusion having an extract content below about 14% is prepared, and boiled to obtain a wort. A predetermined quantity of hops are then added to said wort, which is then aerated. The wort is pitched with a yeast slurry to provide a cell count of about 80 to about 180 million yeast cells per ml and fermented at a temperature of about 3° C. to about 10° C. for 1 to 40 hours. The yeast is then removed from the fermented wort, and the resulting brew is filtered, and electrolyzed with a copper electrode to remove H2S. The alcohol concentration of the brew is then adjusted with carbonated water to a preselected level, and then the resultant brew is aged for at least 24 hours.

  • Patent number: 5625347
Abstract: A device for delivering an audible message is described. It includes a housing adapted for releasable emplacement on an externally threaded bottle neck. The housing includes a substantially disc-shaped main body, and a downwardly depending skirt around the perimeter thereof. Circuit means are located within the housing and include means for securing thereto a source of electrical energy, and programmable means for encoding an audible message on the circuit means. A speaker is provided within the housing, electrically connected to the circuit means for delivering the audible message. Switch means are associated with the circuit means adapted to maintain the circuit in an open state whilst said housing is in releasable emplacement on a bottle, and to close the circuit upon removal of the housing from the bottle. Removable of the housing from the bottle causes the audible message to be delivered via the speaker.

  • Patent number: 4932272
Abstract: A liquid sampling valve for a gas chromatographic analyzer (GCA) has a sampling stem. The stem is substantially cylindrical and has on its surface a sample collecting groove. The stem is movable from a first position in which the groove is in communication with the liquid to be analyzed for collection of same, to a second position in which the liquid collected in the groove is deposited in the GCA for analysis. The stem is also movable to a third position in which the groove is in communication with a cleaning solution capable of cleaning residues, which are left by said liquid to be analyzed, in the groove.
