Patents Assigned to Monitron Industries, Inc.
  • Patent number: 4125008
Abstract: A unitary self-contained electrically operated lock is provided which includes a latch wheel manually releasably rotatable from a first side of the lock housing by pulling on a handle from a first side and releasably rotatable from a second side of the housing only in response to insertion of a data combination card carrying an appropriate code. The latch wheel is mounted outside the housing on a rotatable shaft extending into the housing. A ratchet wheel mounted inside the lock housing on the rotatable shaft rotates with the latch wheel. A pawl normally engaged with the ratchet wheel allows the latch wheel to rotate into locking engagement with a keeper mounted in a door jamb while preventing the latch wheel from rotating out of engagement with the keeper until the pawl is retracted. A trip plate secured to the handle disengages the pawl from the ratchet wheel whenever the handle is manually retracted.

  • Patent number: 4108366
Abstract: A card reader adapted to receive a coded card is provided which includes an alternating current source and sensing means connected to the alternating current source. The sensing means includes a plurality of tuned circuits, each having a sensing coil. Each coil has a pressed powder ferromagnetic core and an annular pressed powder ferromagnetic sleeve encircling the coil in a plane parallel to the longitudinal axis of the core. The coded card consists of a thin electrically conductive layer having holes selectively formed in the layer in data positions, which, when taken together with portions of the remainder of the electrically conductive layer, constitute binary coded information. The card reader contains a protrusion which prohibits access to a portion of the card reader. A notch is formed in one side of the card to receive the card reader protrusion so that the card may be fully inserted into the card reader in only one position, thereby aligning the coils and the data positions.

  • Patent number: 3949388
Abstract: A small self-contained sensor and transmitter assembly including a sensor for detecting physiological and bio-medical phenomena and a transmitter for transferring such data to a receiver for display and other use is disclosed. In one embodiment, the sensor is adapted to be secured within the axilla of a patient to detect his temperature by means of a thermistor arranged in heat exchange relation with the body of the patient. The thermistor modulates the pulsing rate of a blocking oscillator which generates a magnetic field, the pulsing rate being proportional to the physiological phenomenon of interest. The oscillator, power supply, antenna, and other circuit elements are mounted within corresponding compartments in a molded plastic housing, the arrangement being such that substantially all of the interconnections between circuit elements are made using only the component lead wires.

  • Patent number: 3930561
Abstract: A loudspeaker horn has a conical section adapted to receive the driver assembly of a speaker system at the small cone end. An exponential section secured to the large cone end, concentrically with the cone longitudinal axis, flares outwardly to terminate in a square cross-section horn mouth. A raised lip secured around the periphery of the horn mouth diffracts sound symmetrically through a dispersion angle of about 120.degree. with a drop of about six decibels or less.

  • Patent number: RE29846
Abstract: A unitary self-contained electronic combination lock is provided which includes a dead bolt manually operable from one side and operable from the other side only in response to insertion of a data combination card carrying a unique binary code in the form of selectively positioned metallic spots. Sensors located within the unit generate a binary 1 or 0 signal in response to the presence or absence of a metallic spot adjacent each sensor. The lock combination code is automatically changed to the data card's code upon insertion of a card having a code combination which includes part of the lock's code so that the previously issued cards will no longer operate to unlock the door. In this manner, the authorized code for each lock unit is automatically and independently changed to render inoperative all previously issued data cards.
