In an embodiment, a computational profile is generated for an application based on execution metrics of the application for the CPU and the accelerated processing unit, and a genetic algorithm (GA) prediction model is applied to predict execution speedup on an accelerated processing unit for the application. In an embodiment, upon identification of speedup, computational steps are arbitrated among various processing units according to compute availability to achieve optimal completion time for the compute job.

    Abstract: A computer-implemented method for automatically analyzing handwritten text to determine a mismatch between a purported writer and an actual writer is disclosed. The method comprises receiving two samples of digitized handwriting each allegedly created by one individual and received and entered into a digital system by another. The method further comprises performing a series of feature extractions to convert the samples into two vectors of extracted features; automatically clustering a set of vectors such that the first vector and the second vector are assigned to the same cluster among multiple clusters, based on vector similarity; and automatically determining that a same individual being associated with both the first and second samples indicates a heightened probability that the individual fraudulently created both samples. Finally, the method comprises automatically transmitting a message to flag additional samples of digitized handwriting entered into a digital system as possibly fraudulent.

    Abstract: Systems and methods determine whether domain names are potentially maliciously registered variants of a set of monitored domain names. A computer system can receive domain names from a feed of newly registered domain names. For each received domain name, the computer system can generate a series of images of the domain name in different fonts and/or with various distortions applied thereto. The computer system can then transform the domain name images back to text via optical character recognition. Due to the differences in fonts and/or distortions applied to the generated images of the received domain name, the optical character recognition process can produce different text strings than the originally received domain name. The converted textual domain names are then analyzed to determine whether any one is sufficiently similar to a monitored domain name, indicating that the received domain name could be a malicious variant thereof.

    Abstract: A system and method for obtaining user approval for transactions. The system includes an authorization system that is communicably coupled to one or more transaction computer systems that execute at least some transactions that require user approval. When a transaction system is seeking to execute a transaction that requires user approval, the transaction system sends a user approval request to the authorization system. The authorization system then retrieves the user's communication preference from a database and transmits an affirmatively actionable message to the user according to the retrieved communication preference. The messages can include an email with an approval link to click or a text message that the can be replied to. When the authorization system receives confirmation from the user that the user approves the request, the authorization system then transmits approval for the transaction to the appropriate transaction system, which then proceeds to execute the transaction.

Each application in the workflow generates an application log file that includes a standard header, which in turn includes a transaction ID associated with the transaction, an outcome associated with a step of the transaction executed by each of the applications, and a timestamp associated with the step of the transaction. The application log file with the header is received and stored by the computer system. The computer system can thereafter retrieve and display the entire transaction history for the transaction across all of the applications in response to a user query. The standard header is appended to the application log file and agnostic to the underlying technology used to implement the application system so that any transaction can be reconstructed end-to-end regardless of the form of the application system.
