Patent number: 6583529Abstract: An electrical machine having a plurality of pole pieces surrounded by bobbins and upon which individual coil windings are formed. The bobbins are formed by a insulating material in which are embedded electrical connectors that have terminal ends that afford connection to the coil windings and to an external connection for either deriving electrical power in the case the machine operates as a generator or receiving power in the event the device operates as a motor. In addition the individual coils are arranged in groups that can be connected together through internal connections in such a way to provide different electrical outputs without internal taps or redesign of the machine. Thus, cost is reduced and at the same time the device is more compact and has greater efficiency and wider utility.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2000Date of Patent: June 24, 2003Assignee: Moriyama Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hitoshi Suzuki, Masaki Morimatsu

Patent number: 6153957Abstract: A rotating electrical machine having a simplified terminal construction for providing the electrical connections to the individual armature windings. This connection is provided by a terminal plate comprised of an insulating base having conductive terminals affixed to its opposite sides. This insulating plate and the terminals have slots that receive the ends of the armature windings for facilitating and simplifying the electrical connections. In addition, the terminal plate and the sensor elements for the machine are disposed in substantial axial alignment with each other but radially spaced from each other to provide a compact assembly.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 1999Date of Patent: November 28, 2000Assignee: Moriyama Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Tadashi Takano

Patent number: 5422625Abstract: A bar-type tachometer for indicating the speed of an engine and for providing a warning signal when the engine deviates from a predetermined, desired speed such as the desired idle speed>, In this way, even though the display covers a range of engine speeds, it is possible to establish a desired speed within that range, such as the setting of the actual desired idle speed.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 1993Date of Patent: June 6, 1995Assignee: Moriyama Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Masafumi Sakaemura

Patent number: 5353953Abstract: A sealed display device comprises a case for encasing a meter such as a speedometer, tachometer, odometer and the like, viewable through a display window or opening formed in the case, with a transparent cover sealed over the opening. The case has an annular lip surrounding the opening and adapted to receive a peripheral edge of the transparent cover. A layer of sealant is placed between the lip and the cover to seal the cover to the case. A plurality of spaced support members support the cover in spaced relationship to the lip so that a sufficiently thick layer of sealant may be placed between the cover and the lip to prevent breakage of the seal due to differences in thermal expansion and contraction between the case and cover. Angled areas may be milled from the case in surrounding relationship to the lip to define areas for accommodating a thicker layer of sealant than could otherwise be accommodated.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1993Date of Patent: October 11, 1994Assignee: Moriyama Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Masafumi Sakaemura

Patent number: 5216421Abstract: An indicator assembly for watercraft having an engine is provided. The indicator assembly comprises a first detector for detecting an operating condition of the watercraft, such as a fluid level, an indicator for indicating this detected operating condition, a switching assembly for actuating the indicator, a second detector for outputting a signal to the switching assembly when the engine is in the on or running state. The indicator assembly is designed so that the switching assembly actuates the indicator when the switching assembly receives the signal from the second detector but does not actuate the indicator when the signal is not received by the switching assembly after a predetermined time.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 1990Date of Patent: June 1, 1993Assignee: Moriyama Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Ryoji Sawada, Satoshi Yamamoto

Patent number: 5103673Abstract: A fluid level indicator for a small watercraft is provided which can be used to effectively detect and indicate a fluid level in a small watercraft even when the watercraft is experiencing severe rocking or up and down movements during operation and which is able to detect and distinguish the fluid level at a number of different positions. The fluid level indicator comprises a fluid level detector which includes a guide member, preferably cylindrical, generally vertically disposed in a fluid tank. A plurality of floats each having a magnet are slidably received for movement along the guide member within a designated section. In the illustrated embodiments, reed type switches one or more of which are associated with each of the floats are positioned within the guide member for detecting the position of the corresponding float along the guide. An indicator plate, preferably of the LDC type, is operatively connected to the fluid level detector for indicating the detected fluid level in the tank.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 1990Date of Patent: April 14, 1992Assignee: Moriyama Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Ryoji Sawada, Satoshi Yamamoto
